Your work will span feature design, development, automated testing, service integration, production support, and continuous improvement.\nThis is a mobile engineering role that provides an opportunity to apply strong Android expertise while expanding your experience with conversational interfaces, AI-assisted development practices, modern architecture, and enterprise-scale mobile delivery.\nWhat you have\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\nFive or more years of professional native Android development experience using Kotlin and/or Java\nAdvanced Software Development skills demonstrated through the delivery and support of scalable, maintainable Android applications\nStrong Java or Kotlin programming skills, including object-oriented design, modular development, debugging, and code review practices\nExperience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, including asynchronous processing, error handling, and service troubleshooting\nExperience developing unit tests and automated user-interface tests using tools such as Espresso, UI Automator, or Appium\nAbility to apply User Interface Design principles to create intuitive, responsive, and accessible Android experiences\nExperience troubleshooting application memory, performance, integration, or production issues using structured Problem-Solving methods\nExperience supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, release processes, and related DevOps practices\nAbility to communicate technical decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly across technical and non-technical audiences\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Clean Architecture, or comparable modern Android architecture patterns\nExperience with reactive development frameworks such as Kotlin Flow, Coroutines, RxJava, or LiveData\nExperience using dependency-injection frameworks such as Dagger, Hilt, or Koin\nExperience developing accessible mobile applications using TalkBack, dynamic text, focus management, and other Android accessibility capabilities\nExperience building chatbot, voice, streaming, or conversational user experiences within a native mobile application\nPractical experience using AI-assisted development tools to analyze requirements, develop implementation plans, generate code, or troubleshoot issues while independently validating quality and production readiness\nExperience supporting Android SDK, Kotlin, operating-system, and application-store upgrades\nExperience with test-driven development, behavior-driven development, Agile delivery, and iterative product development\nExperience building modular, reusable mobile components for large-scale applications\nAbility to influence technical decisions, build consensus, and work effectively through ambiguous or evolving requirements\nLearning Opportunities\nDeepen expertise in enterprise-scale Android development and modern mobile architecture\nBuild client-facing conversational, chatbot, voice, and AI-enabled mobile experiences\nExpand knowledge of secure financial technology and high-visibility digital products\nStrengthen experience with Jetpack Compose, modular architecture, accessibility, observability, and application performance\nDevelop practical capability with AI-assisted engineering tools, including requirement analysis, implementation planning, code generation, and validation\nGrow technical influence through architecture discussions, design reviews, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration\nLearn Schwab’s mobile engineering standards, development practices, platform architecture, and client-experience principles\nSkill Development Values\nAt Schwab, we hire for demonstrated capability, transferable skills, and growth potential.
