Working within a collaborative and highly technical environment, you will partner with engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to support and optimize database platforms, deployment pipelines, and application environments while helping drive continuous improvement through automation and modern DevOps practices.\nIn this role, you will contribute to the reliability and operational excellence of applications and services by troubleshooting complex production-support challenges, improving platform performance, implementing monitoring solutions, and identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation. You will help maintain and enhance database environments, support application releases, and influence operational best practices that improve system availability, scalability, and efficiency.\nSuccess in this position requires strong analytical thinking, adaptability, and a passion for solving challenging technical problems. You will leverage your experience supporting enterprise applications and database technologies to drive meaningful outcomes, collaborate across teams, and help deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing technology solutions that support Schwab's commitment to innovation and client-centric service.\nWhat you have\nRequired Qualifications\n3+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, software deployment pipelines, database platforms, or related technology environments.\n3+ years of experience performing database administration, database troubleshooting, performance tuning, or database operations activities.\nExperience supporting software releases, release engineering processes, and application configuration management.\nExperience implementing automation solutions and supporting DevOps practices that improve operational efficiency and system reliability.\nExperience monitoring applications and platforms and using operational metrics to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.\nKnowledge of software development lifecycles, infrastructure technologies, databases, operating systems, networking, and application support best practices.\nExperience working in Agile environments and partnering effectively with Agile development teams.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to quickly understand complex systems and architectures.\nStrong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL database administration, migration, monitoring, performance tuning, and recovery processes.\nExperience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira, or Confluence.\nExperience supporting cloud-based platforms and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies.\nExperience with Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar observability and monitoring platforms.\nExperience administering or troubleshooting Linux and Windows environments.\nKnowledge of ITIL problem management and operational support practices.\nExperience supporting third-party vendor applications and SaaS platforms.\nExperience within the financial services, banking, or highly regulated industry.\nExperience establishing database backup, recovery, and capacity planning strategies.\nIn addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.\nWhat’s in it for you\nAt Schwab, you’re empowered to shape your future.
