If you’re energized by entrepreneurship and excited about shaping culture, talent, and technology in a brand-new environment, this is where you’ll make your mark.\nWhat you have\nRole Description\nThe Control-M Developer is a hands-on developer responsible for designing, developing and supporting enterprise batch scheduling and automation solutions using Control-M within Schwab Data India. The Batch Services team builds and maintains highly secure and reliable batch processing that orchestrates mainframe and distributed workloads across Schwab’s hundreds of applications. This role contributes to the Analytical Data Platform Engineering (ADPE) organization which owns the strategy, implementation, delivery, and support of the data warehouse and emerging data platforms managing over 4 petabytes of data.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelopment & Implementation\nDesign, develop, and maintain Control-M jobs, folders, and scheduling solutions across mainframe and distributed platforms.\nBuild and support secure, reliable batch workflows including dependencies, calendars, and file transfers (NDM, FTP, SFTP, PGP/FTP, NFS).\nAutomate repetitive batch and operational tasks using Python and shell scripting.\nWrite clean, well-tested code and Control-M configurations following team standards and best practices.\nApply AI and Generative AI tools to accelerate development, automate routine tasks, and improve batch operations and observability.\nParticipate in technical design discussions and contribute ideas for solution improvements.\nCollaboration & Learning\nCollaborate with team members through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.\nWork with application support teams, Production Control, and stakeholders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.\nParticipate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.\nCoordinate with U.S.-based team members for knowledge transfer and issue resolution.\nDocument processes, procedures, and technical implementations.\nQuality & Operations\nProvide Level 2 support for batch execution, problem determination, and service restoration.\nFollow established CI/CD practices for code and configuration deployment and release management.\nTroubleshoot and debug batch and application issues, providing timely resolutions.\nAdhere to Schwab’s security, privacy, and regulatory standards in all development work.\nSupport production deployments and participate in on-call rotation as needed.\nRequired Experience\nMinimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Control-M administration and development (mandatory).\nExperience with enterprise batch scheduling across mainframe and distributed (UNIX/LINUX/Windows) environments.\nWorking knowledge of JES/SDSF, ISPF, JCL, CA-ESP, CA11, and file transfer protocols (NDM, FTP, SFTP, PGP/FTP, NFS).\nFamiliarity with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.\nStrong proficiency in SQL and understanding of database infrastructure (Oracle, MS-SQL Server, PostgreSQL) (mandatory).\nPreferred Experience\nProgramming experience with Python for automation and scripting.\nExposure to AI / Machine Learning concepts and the ability to leverage AI-based tools to improve automation and productivity.\nData Warehouse and ETL knowledge or experience.\nUnix Shell Scripting and PERL knowledge; ability to read and interpret debug logs.\nSkills and Attributes\nStrong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality.\nGood communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.\nExcellent at gauging customer impact and escalating with the appropriate sense of urgency.\nTeam player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.\nSelf-motivated with a mindset to automate wherever possible and a passion for learning new technologies.\nAdaptable and open to feedback with a growth mindset.\nWhat’s in it for you\nAt Schwab India, you’re empowered to shape your future.
