Your impact begins on day one, and your contributions will help define our future in the region\nWhat you have\nRole Description\nWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing software development team. In this role, you will balance people leadership with technical credibility - managing team health, growing engineers, and partnering with business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver on a complex technical roadmap.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead & Develop the Team - Manage a team of senior, mid-level, and junior software engineers; conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, career development planning, and hiring\nDrive Delivery - Own sprint planning, backlog health, and delivery commitments; remove blockers and ensure the team operates at a sustainable, productive pace\nStakeholder & Requirements Management - Partner with Director-level business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and prioritize requirements; translate business needs into actionable engineering work\nTechnical Oversight - Maintain sufficient technical depth in Java / Spring Boot and .NET and angular to evaluate trade-offs, challenge estimates, and guide architectural decisions alongside technical leads\nMentor & Coach - Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and psychological safety across the team\nCross-Team Collaboration - Coordinate dependencies with peer engineering teams, product owners, architects, and QA to align on roadmap execution\nProcess & Continuous Improvement - Identify and address delivery inefficiencies; champion Agile practices and drive retrospective outcomes to measurable improvements\nRequired Qualification\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n15+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a formal people management or team lead role\nHands-on software development background with proficiency in Java / Spring Boot and/or .NET (C#), and Angular\nProven ability to manage requirements and prioritization conversations with business stakeholders and Director-level leadership\nStrong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills\nExperience managing delivery in Agile/Scrum environments.\nPreferred Qualification\nMaster's degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or related field)\nExperience managing teams in financial services or regulated industries\nFamiliarity with SAFe Agile framework and PI Planning\nExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices\nWhat’s in it for you\nAt Schwab India, you’re empowered to shape your future.
