We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).\nThe Senior IAM Control Sustainability and Assurance Specialist will strengthen the long-term effectiveness, resilience, and audit readiness of controls across Schwab’s Identity and Access Management program. You will translate audit, regulatory, policy, and standards-based requirements into practical control and evidence expectations while independently assessing control design, execution, and operating effectiveness.\nIn this role, you will partner with control owners, technical teams, auditors, and leaders to identify risks, evaluate evidence quality, recommend corrective actions, and monitor remediation. You will help establish repeatable procedures, validation checks, health indicators, and assurance practices that improve consistency and identify control degradation early.\nYour work will also advance automation and process improvements across IAM control and audit workflows, reducing manual effort and strengthening accuracy, traceability, and resilience. Success requires sound judgment, thoughtful challenge, clear communication, and the ability to adapt priorities based on risk and business needs.\nWhat you have\nRequired Qualifications\n4+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, technology risk, control assurance, control sustainability, audit, compliance, or a related discipline\nDemonstrated knowledge of risk and control concepts, control design, operating effectiveness, evidence sufficiency, assurance testing, and issue remediation\nWorking knowledge of identity lifecycle management, access provisioning and deprovisioning, periodic access certifications, exception management, and remediation processes\nExperience improving processes through workflow design, reporting, scripting, orchestration, analytics, or other automation capabilities\nAbility to analyze complex requirements, ask effective challenge questions, and provide clear recommendations to technical, audit, regulatory, control, and leadership stakeholders\nStrong judgment, attention to detail, ownership, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment\nAbility to work independently and proactively with minimal guidance\nBachelor’s degree\nPreferred Qualifications\nCISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, or an equivalent certification\n3+ years of experience in technology risk, supervision and controls, compliance, or audit\n2+ years of experience in financial services\nKnowledge of NIST, ISO, FFIEC, GLBA, PCI, or related risk, regulatory, and industry requirements\nExperience using governance, risk, and compliance or workflow platforms such as IBM OpenPages or RSA Archer\nExperience partnering directly with auditors and supporting audit requests, assessments, and remediation activities\nIn addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.\nWhat’s in it for you\nAt Schwab, you’re empowered to shape your future.
