This position serves as the primary support resource for audiovisual technology while assisting with desktop computing needs across City departments.\nExamples of Duties:\nInstalls, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots audiovisual equipment, including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, video conferencing equipment, presentation systems, digital signage, and related technology.\nProvides technical support for City meetings, training sessions, public events, and hybrid or virtual meetings.\nPerforms preventative maintenance and routine testing of audiovisual equipment to ensure proper operation.\nDiagnoses and resolves audiovisual hardware, software, connectivity, and equipment issues.\nInstalls or assists with installation of computer hardware and peripheral devices, including monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, docking stations, and external storage devices.\nLoads and configures operating systems, productivity software, security software, and other approved applications. Verifies proper system operation.\nProvides Tier 1 technical support to computer users through the Help Desk by resolving computer hardware, software, mobile device, printer, networking, and audiovisual support requests.\nCollects information regarding technical issues and enters associated data into the Help Desk ticketing system for assignment and tracking.\nResponds to client inquiries, diagnoses hardware and software issues, and performs corrective actions.\nInstructs users in the operation of audiovisual equipment, video conferencing technology, computers, and related software.\nCoordinates activities with the Help Desk, Information Technology staff, vendors, and service providers as needed.\nMaintains inventory of assigned audiovisual equipment and technology assets.\nProvides updates regarding work status and completed tasks to supervisors and end users.\nReplaces defective, inadequate, or obsolete audiovisual and computer equipment.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nBasic Qualifications:\nAssociate’s degree (AA/AS) or equivalent, and two (2) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nValid driver’s license.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office or similar software.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting audiovisual systems, including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, digital signage, and video conferencing equipment.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, or similar collaboration platforms.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and related software.\nKnowledge of AV control systems such as Crestron, Extron, or similar technology is helpful.\nThe City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
