You’ll provide foundational technical support while ensuring reliability and safety, making a tangible difference in our network’s performance and customer experience.\nShift Requirements for this role : Monday to Friday 3 pm -12 amEST\nHow You’ll Make an Impact\nInstall, configure, operate and maintain legacy and new data center equipment using established procedures\nPerform routine inspections, operational checks, testing and logging for data center and facility systems\nMonitor services and assist with quality assurance and basic troubleshooting of network and facility systems\nInstall, route, terminate and test Ethernet, coaxial and fiber cabling following engineering and safety practices\nSupport installation, testing and maintenance of optical transport components and assist with troubleshooting of network issues\nSupport testing and monitoring of backup power and environmental systems including generators, UPS, DC plants, HVAC and fire/life safety systems\nMaintain logs, test records and documentation in compliance with Spectrum procedures and regulations\nMaintain a clean, safe and organized work environment while supporting project activities for facility upgrades and equipment installations\nWorking Conditions\nShift Requirements for this role : Monday to Friday 3 pm -12 amEST\nWork in a 24x7 fast paced environment\nExposure to continuous moderate noise\nWork and travel in inclement weather\nWork performed near power facilities and electricity\nAbility to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time\nAbility to safely lift up to 50lbs. individually or with assistance\nWhat You’ll Bring to Spectrum\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience in science, technology, engineering, electronics or related discipline\nTrade/apprenticeship training or discipline-specific licenses/certifications may be considered for equivalent experience\nExperience\n1+ years of data center technician, electronics, network implementation or related hands-on technical experience\nSkills\nBasic knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model and network transport concepts\nBasic knowledge of Ethernet, coaxial and fiber cabling installation and testing\nBasic knowledge of HFC, DOCSIS, CMTS, video networking, IP transport and related network architectures\nBasic knowledge of transport technologies such as CWDM, DWDM, SONET, T1, Ethernet, microwave and wireless systems\nBasic understanding of critical infrastructure systems including HVAC, generators, UPS, DC plants, inverters, monitoring/control systems and life safety systems\nBasic understanding of voltage, amperage and resistance\nAbility to use standard hand tools, ladders, test equipment, ticketing systems and common software applications\nAbility to read blueprints, diagrams, system maps and layouts\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work independently on routine assignments and collaborate with cross-functional teams\nAbility to distinguish wire colors and sizes and work in tight spaces\nAbility to work in high stress, fast paced environment \nPreferred Qualifications\nEducation\nCertifications related to optical transport, critical infrastructure or data center operations\nExperience\n1+ years managing construction activities and electrical/mechanical trade work within data centers\n1+ years as an electrical/mechanical technician in mission-critical facilities, campus central plants or data centers\n1+ years with electrical/mechanical/monitoring systems in military settings or integrated control systems applications\n1+ years in computing and networking installation/support across complex environments\nSkills\nKnowledge of Spectrum products and services\nKnowledge of industry standards such as NEC, ASHRAE, IEEE, IBC, ANSI/TIA and Uptime\nExperience in mission-critical facilities or data center environments\nEOP302 2026-82919 EOP302 2026\nHere, our employees don’t just have jobs, they're building careers.
