From government and defense customers to agricultural and heavy truck equipment manufacturers, and an array of companies who need pumps, valves and compressors, Charter Casting works with its customers to create custom castings that are both efficient and cost-effective.\nAbout the Casting Engineer Internship:\nGain hands-on experience in casting tooling design, defect analysis, and quality processes while developing an understanding of the requirements and steps involved in launching new products into production.\nProgram Structure:\n Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.\nLocation: Shawano, WI\nStart Date: May 2027\nDuration: Summer internship\nWhat we're looking for:\nEnrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.\nCumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.\nProficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nStrong interpersonal and relationship building skills.\nAbility to succeed in a team environment.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks.\nWhat you'll focus on:\nCasting Tooling Design: Assist with the design and development of tooling used in the casting process.\nNew Product Launches: Support new job start-ups, including process planning, testing, and troubleshooting.\nCAD Design: Utilize CAD software to create, review, and update tooling designs and engineering drawings.\nProcess Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve casting processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.\nQuality & Defect Analysis: Assist with identifying casting defects, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions.\nEngineering Support: Collaborate with the Casting Engineering team on daily operations, technical challenges, and additional projects as opportunities arise.\nWhat Sets Our Internship Program Apart: Work on meaningful projects while receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that help launch your career.
