Join the team and become part of our family!\nCharter Casting is hiring a Process Engineer!\nJob Summary:\nProvide technical leadership and process expertise to continuously improve safety, quality, yield and throughput of the manufacturing equipment and processes. Work with other functions to implement new products, materials, equipment, and processes into production to improve cost competitiveness and customer satisfaction. Work with internal teams and outside contractors on budgeting, installation, and startup of capital equipment.\nPosition specifics:\nLocation: Woodstock, IL\nSchedule: Onsite\nApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Charter Manufacturing is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.\nKey responsibilities:\nInvestigate, evaluate, and justify investment of potential new equipment.\nLead and support Continuous Improvement of manufacturing processes.\nProvide technical support to operations by spending time on the floor learning processes, troubleshooting, and leading and/or participating on teams.\nCoordinate with Product Engineering on new component process and equipment planning.\nWrite appropriations requests and manage capital projects.\nDrive variation reductions utilizing Process Control methodology.\nDefine and document Standard Operating Procedures for new and modified processes.\nAssist with establishing and tracking key operational metrics.\nFollow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.\nAbility to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.\nWhat you’ll need:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.\nOne plus years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and problem-solving techniques including Kaizen, 5S and 6σ.\nTechnical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.\nEffective written and oral communication skills.\nSelf-starter with strong analytical skills.\nKnowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA, process control plans, process flow diagrams, and part routings.\nAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously.\nBasic 3D CAD software skills.\nNice to haves:\nOne plus years’ experience in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.\nExperience in high volume metal stamping, metal forming or automated assembly.\nExperience with metal finishing and metal treatments.\nProven project management experience.\nExperience within the automotive industry.\nExperience with SolidWorks/Pro-E systems.\nProficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Office software products.\nTake the next step in your career, apply today!\nAbout Charter Casting\nCharter Casting is a premier U.S. partner and casting supplier for precision-engineered iron solutions. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
