Charter Steel is hiring for a May 2027 graduate for our Materials Engineering Rotational Program!\nThe Materials Engineering Rotational program provides the opportunity for a recent Materials Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering graduate to join Charter Steel on a full-time basis and rotate between different departments, accelerating their professional growth and development!\nProgram Structure:\nOhio based candidates: rotations in Cleveland, OH or Fostoria, OH\nStart Date: June 2027\nRotations: Melt Shop, Rolling Mill, Processing Plant or Technical Services\nWhat you'll bring:\nBachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering.\nRelated internship or work experience.\nHigh level of initiative for excellence, results, and process improvement.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nDemonstrated abilities in planning and communication of ideas and concepts.\nStrong interpersonal skills to work with individuals at all levels of the business.\nExcellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.\nDemonstrated passion and intellectual curiosity within the steel industry and Materials field of study.\nWillingness to travel as needed.\nWhat you'll focus on:\nLearn the operations of the plant and how metallurgical theories and practices are incorporated into those operations to improve the process.\nUnderstand the effect of process changes on product performance.\nCollect and communicate product quality data.\nPerform Root Cause Analysis of process-related defects and effects on final products.\nAssist in trouble-shooting and resolving customer complaints with failure analysis and metallographic interpretations.\nContribute to process improvements based on detailed analysis of quality parameters data and collaboration with outside technical resources and organizations.\nParticipate in Six Sigma, Orange Belt, and problem solving teams.\nAnswer inquiries from other departments and monitor production for problems or issues.\nConduct customer and internal tours based on product and process needs.\nWe offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with a 401(k) plan that includes employer matching and profit sharing.
