Now, as we shape the future of home improvement, we're building the tech to transform that landscape for everyone - better products, smarter data, AI where it actually helps - so trades can spend less time on admin and consumers can find someone they trust, first time. That's Powering Great Work, and it's why every team here exists:\nTrades spend less time on admin and more on winning work and growing their business\nHomeowners get a trusted trade, first time, every time\nWe get to build products that change homes and lives across the country\nAs our next Principal Product Manager, Matching & Monetisation, you'll own the part of Checkatrade where homeowners and tradespeople meet, and where trades pay for the leads that get them work. That means how we match jobs to the right trades, how we price and package leads, and how we grow the Opportunity Board, our fast-growing self-serve marketplace. It's product craft with real commercial ownership: you set the vision, define what great looks like, and ship it.\nThe job, unfiltered:\nOwn the leads marketplace end to end (Matching, Monetisation and the Opportunity Board) with a clear view of how they work together.\n\nGrow the marketplace commercially, making honest trade-offs between growth, value to trades and long-term marketplace health.\n\nMake matching smarter, so the right job reaches the right tradesperson, working closely with Data Science.\n\nEvolve how we price and package leads, using dynamic pricing to unlock new value.\n\nScale the Opportunity Board into a major way trades win work.\n\nSet and hold the quality bar for a two-sided marketplace, earning trust across Product, Data Science, Engineering and our commercial teams by delivering.\n\nThe fit:\nExtensive experience in senior product roles, owning a revenue-generating or marketplace product at scale.\n\nMarketplace depth: you understand liquidity, supply and demand, matching and distribution.\n\nCommercial and pricing fluency: dynamic pricing, packaging and subscription or pay-as-you-go economics are familiar ground.\n\nStrong analytical instincts, and a habit of using data and experimentation to decide.\n\nA track record of shipping: you drive delivery, remove blockers and move fast without dropping quality.\n\nThe vision and ambition to see where a marketplace should go, and to bring people with you.\n\n(Don't self-select out because you don't tick every box. We'd rather meet you.)\nWhat you get\nCompetitive salary, annual bonus & equity scheme\nHealth, wellbeing and learning support\nGym membership, Smart Tech Scheme, Cycle Scheme\nBirthday/special day leave, buy & sell holiday scheme\n1 week's paid charity leave, and more\nHow this goes\nScreening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners\n\nFirst stage: interview with our Head of Monetisation (the hiring manager)\n\nSecond stage: panel interview with our VP Marketplace and a Principal Product Manager\n\nFinal stage: case study presentation with our VP Marketplace and Head of Monetisation\n\nNot this one? Stay close anyway. Join the Talent Community and we'll ping you the second something better fits.\nAbout us\n We’re Checkatrade - the UK’s leading platform for finding a tradesperson. With more than 50,000 trades listed and over 6 million reviews, we help homeowners get jobs done right and help tradespeople grow their business.\nWe’re growing fast, with big plans to become the go-to brand for home improvements. If you care about great work, take pride in the details, and want to make an impact, you’ll fit right in.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3570,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Gym membership"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United Kingdom","iso":"GB","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Local Services Marketplaces"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-12T15:29:16Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":32,"band":"fade","label":"Fading","p_open":1,"p_active":0.726,"p_room":0.44,"age_days":99,"expected_fill_days":71,"reasons":["conf:1","velocity","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-11-05T05:54:30Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/checkatrade-principal-product-manager-matching-monetisation","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/checkatrade-principal-product-manager-matching-monetisation.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-05T13:30:00Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":17564,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-06T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":673215},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=673215"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fcheckatrade-principal-product-manager-matching-monetisation"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fcheckatrade-principal-product-manager-matching-monetisation"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fcheckatrade-principal-product-manager-matching-monetisation"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/checkatrade-principal-product-manager-matching-monetisation\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fcheckatrade-principal-product-manager-matching-monetisation"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":665409}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"checkatrade.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":665409},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
