This is an individual contributor role focused on Checkout.com’s top 500 accounts and opportunities.\nYou will combine technical depth, commercial judgment, and strong customer engagement skills to understand complex requirements and translate them into practical Checkout.com solutions. In the US, Solutions Engineers bring together responsibilities that are often split across Sales Engineering and Implementation Engineering, helping win opportunities while reducing friction through technical integration and go-live.\nHow you’ll make an impact\nPartner with Sales and Account Management on top 500 opportunities, shaping technical engagement plans and helping teams position the right Checkout.com solutions.\n\nLead technical discovery, solution design, product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, workshops, and presentations for merchant stakeholders.\n\nTranslate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions using Checkout.com APIs, products, payment methods, and integration patterns.\n\nAdvise customers and internal teams on payment flows, acceptance optimization, fraud prevention, tokenization, 3DS, alternative payment methods, and related payment topics.\n\nSupport RFPs, RFIs, security reviews, architecture discussions, and technical evaluations throughout the sales cycle.\n\nMaintain technical ownership from early discovery through integration, testing, and go-live, partnering with Implementation Engineering, Product, Engineering, Merchant Care, and Account Management to remove blockers.\n\nTurn merchant and market feedback into improvements to product priorities, documentation, enablement, demos, and reusable technical assets.\n\nBuild trusted relationships with technical and business stakeholders while clearly communicating trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nExperience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Implementation Engineering, Technical Account Management, or a similar customer-facing technical role.\n\nExperience supporting complex B2B technology, SaaS, fintech, payments, or e-commerce customers.\n\nStrong understanding of API-based integrations, including REST/JSON APIs, webhooks, logs, API responses, and tools such as Postman.\n\nDemonstrated experience with technical discovery, solution design, demos, proof-of-concepts, workshops, RFPs, or RFIs.\n\nAbility to explain complex technical concepts clearly to developers, product teams, commercial stakeholders, and senior business leaders.\n\nStrong commercial judgment and the ability to balance customer value, technical feasibility, delivery risk, and business priorities.\n\nAnalytical, organized, and customer-focused approach to diagnosing problems and driving them to resolution.\n\nAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly collaborative environment.\n\nNice to have\nPayments or fintech experience, including payment authorization and settlement flows, payment methods, fraud and risk, 3DS, network tokenization, or payment performance.\n\nExperience with JavaScript, React, Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, Go, C#, or another relevant development ecosystem.\n\nExperience working with enterprise merchants and complex, multi-stakeholder implementations.\n\nPrevious engineering, software development, product management, or solutions architecture experience.\n\nFamiliarity with payments standards, regulations, or schemes.\n\nAdditional Information\nBring all of you to work\nWe create the conditions for high performers to thrive, through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one.\nHere, you’ll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver.
