The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to our clients in the MENA region, throughout the entire sales lifecycle. As a Sales Engineer, you are responsible for technical ownership of client relationships from initial contact in the sales cycle throughout the solutioning, integration, and go-live stages of the customer journey. The ability to solve business and technical requirements through the application of Checkout.com products and solutions is core to the success of the position. Along the way, you'll collaborate closely with various in-house talents across Technology and Business to position our capabilities, products, services and solutions effectively with prospects.\nWhat you will do:\nUpfront qualifications of merchants technical needs\n\nWork with Sales to provide product/business/tech knowledge in support of pre-sales activities\n\nPrepare and lead technical/commercial workshops\n\nProvide inputs for proposals and large and complex RFP and RFI responses\n\nImprove solution design, documentation and realisation of custom merchant solutions\n\nImprove communication with merchants on a technical level during the sales process\n\nTranslate product, business and technical requirements into solutions\n\nBeing constantly up to date with industry standards in order to offer the best bespoke solutions to our merchantsConduct thorough upfront qualification of merchant needs and technical infrastructure.\n\nAct as the primary technical subject matter expert, supporting the Sales team through all pre-sales phases.\n\nDesign, prepare, and lead technical and commercial workshops for prospective merchants.\n\nProvide critical technical and solution design inputs for high-value proposals and RFP/RFI responses.\n\nDrive the improvement of solution design quality and documentation for complex solutions.\n\nSignificantly improve the quality and clarity of technical communication with merchants.\n\nExpertly translate requirements into concrete, viable, and efficient solution designs.\n\nMaintain deep industry expertise to design best-in-class, bespoke solutions.\n\nQualifications\n8+ years experience as a Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect or Pre-Sales Consultant\n\nExperience working in a technical client-facing role\n\nFamiliar with API based integration methods, associated best practices, and related tools/frameworks\n\nExperience with at least one common front-end (pure JavaScript, React, Angular, etc) and back-end (Java, .NET, Python, Node, etc) technology\n\nCommercially-minded\n\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills\n\nHighly organized and able to prioritize shifting workloads and responsibilities effectively\n\nAble to thrive in a fast-paced environment\n\nAbility to translate technical jargon into business speak\n\nPrevious exposure to RFI/RFP\n\nVery well-versed in payments; should understand the technicalities inside and out (ideally this should be a bonus requirement not a needed one)\n\nIn depth payments industry exposure with an understanding of the related rules and regulations and payments schemes\n\nAdditional Information\nBring all of you to work\nWe create the conditions for high performers to thrive, through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one.\nHere, you’ll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver.
