Over 140,000 companies and millions of people rely on Checkr for AI verification in the moments that matter most: getting a new job, a new place to live, a car ride, childcare, even a date. Customers include Uber, Pennymac, Airbnb, Doordash, and Anthropic.\nWe’re a team that thrives on solving complex problems with innovative solutions that advance our mission. Checkr is recognized on Forbes Cloud 100 2025 List and is a Y Combinator 2024 Breakthrough Company.\nAbout the team/role: Sr. Product Operations Specialist, P3 (Criminal Data Quality & Supply Chain) \nWe are seeking a Senior Product Operations Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in strengthening the connection between Product, Operations, and Data teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, data-driven environments and has deep knowledge of the background screening industry and the U.S. Judicial System.\nYou will drive process improvements, ensure data integrity, and help shape how product and operational strategies align to deliver accurate, high-quality background data to our clients.\nIn this role, you will own the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the criminal court data Checkr retrieves directly from courts and through third-party vendors. The role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Data, and Compliance.\nYou’ll be the subject matter expert who can put a court website, a vendor’s output, and our own data side by side, figure out exactly why they differ, and turn that into requirements engineers can build against. Your work directly supports our goal of making in-house court data as complete and accurate as anything a vendor can provide, reducing vendor dependency and fallback costs while protecting accuracy for our customers and their candidates.\nWhat you’ll do\nPartner with Product Managers, Data, and Operations teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance data quality, efficiency, and scalability.\nUse analytical insights to track, monitor, and improve data accuracy across multiple systems and data sources.\nLeverage your industry knowledge to optimize workflows related to court data, public records, and other screening data sources.\nAct as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on priorities.\nProactively identify gaps in data processes, propose solutions, and drive implementation.\nLead data quality and parity investigations for automated court data sources: sample records, compare our output against vendor data and the court record, and categorize root causes such as missing dispositions, unknown charge types, missing dates of birth, non-criminal case types, and fallback rules firing when they shouldn’t.\nWrite clear enhancement requirements, expected-output mock-ups, and compliance considerations for scraper and data pipeline changes, and explicitly call out anything that can’t be solved through automation along with where it should go instead (manual fulfillment, court running, bulk files, or architecture work).\nValidate engineering changes in pre-production testing environments, partner with Supply Chain Strat Ops on audit and parity testing before sources go live, and monitor post-release metrics to confirm improvements actually land.\nPrioritize your workstream using fail rate, fallback, and cost data so engineering capacity goes to the highest-impact jurisdictions first, and hold that line when lower-priority work competes for attention.\nInvestigate client accuracy escalations (missed records, incorrect dispositions or sentencing, name matching issues), identify root causes, and turn findings into data enhancements and process improvements.\nShape identity matching and search logic, including name variations, middle name matching, and DOB handling, by weighing accuracy, over- and under-reporting risk, and compliance requirements.\nPartner with Legal, Compliance, and Policy on reportability questions such as statute-to-charge-type mapping, sealed and expunged records, and state record-clearing laws.\nSupport platform and vendor migrations by defining parity criteria, reviewing field-level differences, and signing off on readiness.\nResearch longer-term supply chain strategy, including new state and county sources, bulk file opportunities, vendor redundancy and outage strategies. \nWrite decision memos that lay out options and trade-offs for leadership, and build documentation, playbooks, and training that scale your knowledge across Product Operations, Supply Chain, and engineering partners.\nUse AI and analytics tooling to accelerate investigations, testing, and documentation, and help teammates adopt those workflows.\nWhat you bring\nDeep understanding of the U.S. Judicial System’s processes, including court data, public records, and data sources relevant to background checks.\nProven track record of analyzing, tracking, and improving data quality and integrity within complex data ecosystems.\nExperience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Compliance, and Operations teams.\nTeam-oriented mindset, with a focus on shared success and continuous improvement.\nExperience with court data automation, web scrapers, API testing, or vendor parity testing.\nFamiliarity with identity resolution and name matching logic. \nExperience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) for analysis, prototyping, or building internal tools.\nAn A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes.\nPay Transparency Disclosure\nWe use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. For more information on our compensation philosophy, see our website.\nOn-target Earnings OR Base Salary range (Nashville, TN)\n$80,000—$100,000 USD\nWhat We Offer\nA fast-paced and collaborative environment\nLearning and development allowance\nCompetitive cash and equity compensation, and opportunity for advancement\n100% medical, dental, and vision coverage\nUp to $25K reimbursement for fertility, adoption, and parental planning services\nFlexible PTO policy\nMonthly wellness stipend\nAt Checkr, we believe an in office work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection.
