This role ensures the timely acquisition of spare parts, consumables, tools, and maintenance services while maintaining optimal inventory levels and controlling costs.\nThe MRO Buyer works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure material availability, supplier performance, and compliance with Company purchasing policies and procedures.\nThis is a remote position based in the McAllen, Texas area, with the ability to commute to our manufacturing facility in Reynosa, Mexico, as business needs require. Occasional travel to Houston, Texas, will also be required. While the role is currently remote, a local office may be established in the future.\nKey Responsibilities\nMRO Procurement\nPurchase MRO materials, including spare parts, consumables, tools, equipment, and maintenance services.\nCreate, issue, and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.\nEnsure critical materials are available to support production and maintenance requirements.\nExpedite purchases and deliveries to minimize operational downtime.\nManage urgent and emergency procurement requirements.\nSupplier Management\nIdentify, evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers of MRO materials and services.\nNegotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and supplier agreements.\nDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers.\nMonitor supplier performance and address delivery, quality, or service issues.\nEstablish alternative sources of supply to support business continuity.\nInventory Management\nCoordinate and maintain appropriate inventory levels, including minimum, maximum, and safety stock requirements.\nWork with Maintenance and Warehouse teams to ensure critical spare parts are readily available.\nPrevent stockouts while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.\nSupport inventory accuracy and cycle count programs.\nMaintain material master data and purchasing records as required.\nMaintenance & Operations Support\nCollaborate with Maintenance personnel to support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.\nEnsure purchased materials and services meet technical specifications and operational requirements.\nSupport plant reliability initiatives by ensuring timely access to required parts and services.\nRespond quickly to unplanned equipment failures and production interruptions.\nCost Management & Continuous Improvement\nAnalyze MRO spending and identify cost reduction opportunities.\nSupport standardization of parts, materials, and suppliers.\nRecommend cost-effective products, services, and technical alternatives.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing and inventory management.\nSupport working capital improvement efforts through effective inventory management.\nCompliance & Documentation\nEnsure compliance with Company procurement policies, procedures, and approval requirements.\nMaintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.\nEnsure proper traceability of procurement activities.\nSupport internal and external audits as required.\nReporting & Performance Management\nTrack and report key procurement and inventory metrics.\nDevelop and maintain reports related to supplier performance and purchasing effectiveness.\nMonitor and analyze KPIs including:\nPurchase Order Lead Time\nSupplier On-Time Delivery\nCost Savings\nInventory Turnover\nMaterial Availability\nService Level Performance\nProvide recommendations and action plans based on performance data.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred;
