This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager at our Fayetteville, NC location.\nThe Chemical Process Engineer provides technical support to manufacturing operations to maintain production performance or restore process capability. Process engineers work closely with technology managers and operations to upgrade products and processes by implementing modifications ranging from incremental daily improvements to technology game changes.\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:\nAct as the chemical engineering resource for the Monomers area, providing technical support to maintain and improve safety, reliability, quality, environmental performance, and production capability.\nProvide day-to-day process engineering support, including process monitoring, data analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to resolve operating issues and sustain performance.\nOwn and monitor key process performance indicators, identify performance gaps, and lead efforts to improve process capability, capacity, yield, energy efficiency, and operating reliability.\nLead and support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities including Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), relief system evaluations, Process Technology documentation, Mechanical Integrity activities, and closure of technical action items.\nLead the technical aspects of Management of Change (MOC) activities, including hazard reviews, process design documentation updates, operating procedure revisions, startup planning, and organization readiness.\nDevelop, maintain, and improve process documentation including operating procedures, engineering standards, process safety information, heat and material balances, and other technical records.\nDesign, coordinate, execute, and evaluate plant trials and process tests to improve safety, product quality, environmental performance, reliability, and production costs.\nSupport process control and automation improvements by working with operations, process control engineers, and project teams to improve operability, process stability, alarm management, and controller performance.\nApply process engineering fundamentals, data analytics tools, and process simulation software to evaluate operating performance, troubleshoot issues, identify improvement opportunities, and support process optimization.\nPartner with operations, maintenance, and reliability organizations to investigate recurring equipment and process issues, develop sustainable solutions, and improve asset performance.\nSupport environmental compliance activities, emissions reduction initiatives, permit-related process evaluations, and implementation of environmental improvement projects.\nAssist in training and developing operations and maintenance personnel through technical coaching, procedure development, and knowledge sharing.\nProvide process engineering leadership for capital projects from concept development through startup, including front-end loading, process design basis development, equipment specification, hazard reviews, commissioning, and startup support.\nSupport the implementation of new process technologies, process improvements, and manufacturing capability upgrades through cross-functional project teams.\nThe following isrequiredfor this role:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited school\nDemonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems\nAbility to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects\nAbility to work in a team environment with high degree of initiative and self-motivation and flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely\nThe following ispreferredfor this role:\nExperience in PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing environments\nExperience with process simulation software such as Aspen Plus or Aspen HYSYS\nExperience using process historian and data analytics systems such as SEEQ or IP.21.\nExperience with MOC, PHA, PSSR, LOPA, and root cause analysis methodologies\nExperience supporting fluorochemical, specialty chemical, or highly hazardous chemical processes\nExperience with process control systems and manufacturing automation\nSix Sigma Green Belt certification or higher\nBenefits:\nCompetitive Compensation\nComprehensive Benefits Packages\n401(k) Match\nEmployee Stock Purchase Program\nTuition Reimbursement\nCommuter Benefits\nLearning and Development Opportunities\nStrong Inclusion and Diversity Initiatives\nCompany-paid Volunteer Days\nWE’RE CHEMOURS.
