This position will report directly to a Maintenance Supervisor at our Deepwater, NJ location.\nThe Chambers Works Plant Mechanical Technician accomplishes, with a minimum of supervision, a wide variety of maintenance assignments. The employee must be able to work overtime, ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs, wear industrial safety equipment; hard hat, gloves (both leather and chemical), hearing protection, FR clothing, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, goggles, respirators, chemical suit, lift 50 lbs., stand on his/her feet for extended periods of time, and be physically flexible including bending, rotating, kneeling.\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:\nSafely maintain all plant equipment, such as valves, pumps, agitators, fans, conveyors, pipework etc. per oral and written instructions\n\nAssist in the implementation and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required\n\nInterpret single line diagrams, piping schematics, and mechanical drawings\n\nTroubleshoot and dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment or parts\n\nClean and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery\n\nSafely perform work outdoors during all types of weather conditions\n\nModel appropriate behavior for: Environment, Health & Safety, Project Safety Management, Ethics and Core Values\n\nKnowledge of safety and environmental regulations\n\nAbility to work flexible schedules including an on-call schedule, evenings, and weekends as needed\n\nMust have demonstrated human relations ability to show teamwork and resolving problems together; ability to develop effective working relationships with outside vendors, contractors, and customers, as well as internal personnel\n\nEnter information in SAP to manage and complete Maintenance Work Orders\n\nEnsure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned areas\n\nAdditional information:\nApplicant must successfully complete a validated aptitude test used in our hiring process and a skills assessment during the interview process.\n\nThis is a 24/7 facility and will require the ability to work nights, weekends, 12 hr rotating shifts and on-call as needed\n\nThis is a tobacco free site\n\nThe following is required for this role:\nAssociate Degree, Journeyman's License, NCCER certification, or successfully completed vocational-tech program directly related to Mechanical Maintenance and Installation.
