Work with external vendors to provide technical input on design, fabrication, and repairs. Be able to summarize and communicate complex technical ideas clearly and succinctly to varied audiences.\nPrepare technical reports on assigned tasks. Assist in specification preparation and reviews, complete inspection reports on equipment during fabrication, installation and in- operation.\nNetwork with company resources, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to achieve economical yet feasible solutions to time sensitive business problems. Participate in applicable technical organizations like ASME and MTI (Materials Technology Institute).\nRequired travel: Approx. 35% to plant sites, fabrication shops, face-to-face interactions.\nThe following isrequiredfor this role:\nBS in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated background in non-metallic materials OR Polymer, Chemical, or Materials Engineering with a heavy emphasis on engineering mechanics\n· 5-10 years of experience in Chemical Process or related Industries with involvement in the multiple fabrication phases of a variety of non-metallic materials of constructions and/or in similar fields.\n· Demonstrated experience with design, fabrication, and project process flow for obtaining newly fabricated non-metallic equipment or repair and replacement of existing non-metallic equipment.\n· Comfortable working in a team environment; high degree of initiative and self-motivation; flexibility to monitor and drive projects forward quickly and safely while also being able to deal with ambiguity by applying good judgement and logic.\n· Demonstrated experience reviewing and generating equipment drawings and design sketches, equipment and project specifications, and upkeep of internal standards in alignment with industry standards. In addition, a willingness to participate in competency related Codes and Organizations, such as ASME or similar.\nThe following ispreferred for this role:\nAdvanced degree in Mechanical, Polymer, Chemical, or Materials Engineering with Experience working on a Chemical Process site in a safe and comfortable manner.\nDemonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, solve or help others solve equipment and/or process issues. Experience with RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) process, specifically with non-metallic materials.\nHistory of technical leadership and direction for complex engineering projects from inception to completion\nExperience with relevant codes and standards, such as ASME Section X, RTP-1 and ASTM F1545\nUnderstand and perform calculations related to flange design, strength, sealing, etc.\nIn our pursuit to be the greatest place to work, we know that a critical element to enhancing our employee experience is to assure we’re operating with a solid foundation of trust.
