This role serves as the senior site leader, with responsibility for driving operational excellence, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and long-term site sustainability. The successful candidate will leverage industry best practices, manufacturing expertise, financial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration (including Business, R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, and EHS) to solve complex challenges, create growth opportunities, and deliver superior business results.\nResponsibilities\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:\nLead all aspects of site operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, technology, reliability, and supporting manufacturing functions.\n\nEnsure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operations while maintaining the site’s license to operate.\n\nServe as the primary site representative with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental, safety, transportation, and operating regulations while fostering a proactive compliance culture.\n\nLead community engagement and public affairs activities, strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders, emergency response organizations, industry associations, government officials, and community leaders while promoting trust, transparency, and support for the site’s long-term success.\n\nDrive reliable production performance to achieve quality, volume, cost, and customer service objectives.\n\nFoster a safety-first, high-performance culture where employees are engaged, accountable, empowered, and focused on continuous improvement.\n\nProvide strategic leadership for workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and performance management.\n\nOwn and continuously improve site performance across key metrics including Safety, Environmental, Quality, Reliability, Cost, Productivity, and Cash Generation.\n\nLead the successful restart of critical manufacturing processes that positively impact business performance and growth.\n\nIdentify and execute opportunities to increase production capacity, improve asset utilization, optimize costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.\n\nLead plant turnarounds, maintenance strategies, and reliability improvement initiatives to maximize asset performance and operational sustainability.\n\nEnsure successful execution of capital projects, delivering results safely, on schedule, and within budget.\n\nPartner with business leadership to develop and execute site strategies that support long-term growth, competitiveness, and profitability objectives.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with employees, customers, community stakeholders, and cross-functional business partners.\n\nDevelop and maintain a strong strategic partnership with the site landlord and neighboring operations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective shared services, utilities, and infrastructure.\n\nCollaborate with the site landlord and shared-service providers to optimize resources, infrastructure, and operating costs.\n\nLead site emergency preparedness and crisis management efforts, ensuring effective response capabilities and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nThe following is required for this role:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred.\n\n10+ years of manufacturing or operations experience within the chemical, petrochemical, or related process industries, including leadership experience in high-hazard manufacturing environments.\n\nProven success leading safe, compliant operations with extensive knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental regulations, occupational safety, and operational risk management.\n\nDemonstrated experience managing plant operations, operating budgets, capital expenditures, and cost performance, with a track record of delivering sustainable business results.\n\nStrong technical and operational knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes, with demonstrated success driving process optimization, reliability improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.\n\nExperience leading diverse organizations and developing high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.\n\nExcellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.\n\nExperience working effectively within global, matrixed organizations and partnering with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, commercial, R&D, finance, and corporate functions.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree (MBA, M.S., or equivalent).\n\nDemonstrated experience leading successful turnarounds, startup/restart activities, major capital expansions, or transformational operational improvement programs.\n\nExperience applying Lean methodologies to maintenance processes and supporting the implementation of business systems\n\nBenefits:\nCompetitive Compensation\n\nComprehensive Benefits Packages\n\n401(k) Match\n\nTuition Reimbursement\n\nLearning and Development Opportunities\n\nStrong Inclusion and Diversity\n\nCompany-paid Volunteer Day\n\nWe’re a different kind of chemistry company because we see our people as our biggest assets.
