This position will be available at the Delisle, MS site in Pass Christian, MS and report directly to the Environmental Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager.\nThe Safety Consultant provides technical leadership and hands-on support to drive workplace safety and process safety performance within high-hazard chemical operations. This role partners with site personnel, leadership, and regulatory agencies to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety management systems. The consultant plays a key role in fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:\nProvide leadership, guidance, technical problem solving, training, improvement and implementation support for safety at high hazard chemical operations\nInterface with all site employees, corporate resources, regulatory agencies, unit operations, and be an active member of the site extended leadership team\nWork to improve systems, procedures, processes, individual capability, and ownership of safety and process safety management\nDevelop systems to implement and manage safety programs across the site\nConduct and support 1st and 2nd party workplace safety and PSM audits\nParticipate in and facilitate incident investigations as required\nServe as subject matter expert and site standard owner for Lock, Tag, and Try, Confined Space Entry, Line and Equipment Break, Fall Protection, Ladder and Scaffold Safety as well as other workplace safety elements.\nReview regulatory briefs when related to EHS and anticipate impact\nServe as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices\nActive participant of Site Safety Committee\nThe following is required for this role:\n5+ years of work experience in a safety related field Or Bachelor’s degree in an EHS (i.e. Safety Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, etc.) or engineering discipline.\nExtensive knowledge of OSHA General Industry, Recordkeeping, and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
