This position will be available at the Asturias (Spain) site and report directly to the Global Payroll Accounting, OTC, Corporate and SG&A Manager.\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:\nPayroll Accounting Close\nReview payroll-related journal entries and system interfaces to the general ledger.\nReview payroll balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items.\nRecord and analyze payroll-related accruals, including vacation, bonus, incentive compensation, severance, and other employee-related liabilities.\nValidate interfaces between payroll systems and the general ledger and resolve discrepancies between source data and recorded balances.\nPrepare payroll flux analyses and provide clear explanations for significant variances.\nTracks payroll-related cash funding and approve deduction related wire requests.\nAnalyzes payroll transactions for appropriate classification and compliance with generally accepted accounting standards and accounting policy.\nOversight of Outsourced Service Delivery\nSupervise transactional activities performed by the staff of an outsourced third-party accounting service provider to ensure they are completed timely and accurately in accordance with the contractual service level agreements.\nReview service delivery performance and process adherence.\nSupport training, knowledge transfer and operational excellence programs.\nEnsure continuity of operations and process documentation.\nProcess Improvement and Transformation\nIdentify automation and simplification opportunities.\nLead implementation of new payroll processes and activity transitions.\nDevelop SOPs and maintain process documentation.\nPartner with Finance, HR, IT and business stakeholders on process enhancements.\nIdentifies financial / accounting training needs and developing / facilitating training execution\nCompliance and Controls\nEnsure compliance with SOX requirements and all applicable internal control standards relating to Payroll processes.\nCoordinate and support all internal (via AuditBoard) and external audit activities. (via Connect)\nSupport local entity statutory audits by ensuring that all audit requests (mainly from PwC) and other auditors are addressed accurately and within required timelines.\nRevenue Recognition Accounting\nReview sales transactions, shipping documentation, and other relevant support to determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment on a quarterly basis.\nPrepare and record revenue recognition, revenue deferral, revenue reversal, and related cost-of-goods-sold journal entries.\nPrepare schedules and supporting documentation for revenue accruals, deferrals, reversals, and related balance sheet accounts.\nSupport quarter-end and year-end revenue reviews, financial statement support, and audit requests.\nReporting\nCoordinate Balance Sheet flux analysis for US entities.\nPrepare management reporting and respond to ad hoc controllership and business requests.\nSupport payroll cash forecasting, management reporting, and other payroll accounting analyses, as applicable.\nStakeholder Management\nServe as a knowledgeable accounting partner and communicate issues, risks, and required actions in a timely manner.\nPartner with Local Controllers, Treasury, Tax, HR, and Business Finance teams.\nFacilitate resolution of issues involving multiple functions and legal entities.\nThe following isrequired for this role:\nBachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting Field\n3-5 + years of accounting experience (payroll accounting experience a plus)\nExperience with SAP, Oracle or another large-scale ERP\nAbility to establish and manage processes and related internal controls\nExperience working across various jurisdictions (multistate and/or multinational)\nWorks independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously\nKnowledge of the EMEA, LATAM or APAC payroll processes and related accounting activities\nStrong Internal Controls able to maintain strict confidentiality (candidate has access to compensation data)\nFluency in English is required\nThe following ispreferredfor this role:\n2+ years of supervisory experience\nPrevious Big Four experience\nFamiliarity with an outsourced service provider environment and managing service level agreements and related compliance monitoring\nAbility to manage teams working in various locations / remotely\nHRIS system knowledge such as Workday or another large-scale payroll system\nSuccess Measures\nAccurate and timely completion of assigned payroll and revenue accounting close activities.\nTimely resolution of reconciling items and accounting issues.\nClear, complete, and audit-ready supporting documentation.\nConsistent compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.\nEffective partnership with process stakeholders and proactive communication of risks.\nDemonstrated process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, or control effectiveness.\nHigh service quality from outsourced providers.\nSuccessful implementation of process improvements.\nBenefits:\nCompetitive Compensation\nComprehensive Benefits Packages\nTuition Reimbursement\nLearning and Development Opportunities\nStrong Inclusion and Diversity Initiatives\nCompany-paid Volunteer Day\nWe’re a different kind of chemistry company because we see our people as our biggest assets.
