The Field Service Engineer will install and support high resolution Mass Spectrometry Instrumentation, mainly focused on the Bruker TimsTOF instruments. This position is ideally based in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area .\nResponsibilities\nFamiliarize and train customers for basic operation of the equipment.\nPerform remote support and diagnostic analysis to determine independently if on site corrective maintenance is required.\nOrganize and prioritize schedule in accordance with customer requirements to determine needs for immediate attention, via onsite visits, and remote assistance.\nRe-qualify the entire instrument after service repair by running complex compounds for verification, in accordance with customer expectations.\nSecure customer acceptance of installation and maintenance sign-off.\nPerform installation of new systems, preventive and corrective maintenance.\nCommunicate and work closely with Service and Support Center, Regional Service Management and Applications Specialists\nPerform other duties as required.\nQualifications\nB.S. in Biotech, Biology or Chemistry related fields or equivalent experience.\nMinimum 3 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing mass spectrometers.\nExperience troubleshooting HPLC and nanoLC required.\nProven knowledge of analog electronics, high voltage circuitry/circuits, laser technology. \nExperience with GLP and working in a regulated environment.\nStrong technical skills involving analytical instrumentation.\nExcellent customer focus with ability to reliably respond to inquiries, communicate and interact with customers with a range of technical expertise.\nAbility to work independently and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines within a customer-focused work environment.\nFocus on the Southwest Region with ability and willingness to travel up to 80% as required by customer demand.\nMay require lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and squatting and working in laboratory environments.\nValid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing.\nAt Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $81,500.00 and $130,000.00 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position.
