Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.\nScope of the Position\nThis job is diverse in the mechanical ability to perform general plant operator duties. The Chemical Operator is an integral part of our production team and will be responsible for the overall chemical production process. This will include weighing, mixing chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment and the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will be attentive, knowledgeable, and have a desire to work with other production team members to develop the best processes and products.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.\n1-3 years of experience working in chemical manufacturing or manufacturing/production.\nKnowledge\nExperience working with forklifts preferred.\nAbility to demonstrate experience using Microsoft programs, maintenance management systems and email.\nAptitude for mechanics.\nWillingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.\nAbility to lift 50lbs or more.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform chemical manufacturing operations in safe and effective manner.\nRecording information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and inputting into database.\nMonitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.\nOperate plant equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\nHandle, transport and process chemicals safely.\nDocument plant processes and record production data.\nOperation of tank truck and railcar vessel opening, loading and unloading of product, operation of pumps, piping and valves. \nTroubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes.\nPlant inventory record keeping.\nOperation of the following mobile equipment: Backhoe, Track mobile, Forklifts, and other mobile equipment.\nDaily plant upkeep and daily maintenance. Ability to perform daily housekeeping duties.\n Working Environment\nChemical manufacturing plant producing Liquid Alum, ACH and PAC chemicals \nPhysical capability of performing tasks in 100-degree ambient temperatures while wearing Protective Personal Protection. \nThis job requires climbing stairs and ladders and also lifting (within OSHA guidelines).\nThis job consists of outside elements where radiant heat or cold is normal work environment, and rotating shifts.\nFollowing all plant safety guidelines such as: Confined Space, Working with heights Management of Change, Hot Work and Operating Procedures\nMust be able to work scheduled 8-hour days with intermittent 14 - 16-hour days for emergency operations/repairs.\nWhat Chemtrade Offers You\nEmbracing Diversity, Maximizing Results\nAt Chemtrade we are committed to cultivating a work environment that embraces and values the unique qualities, skills, and experiences of every employee.
