The ASG/Translator will respond to emergencies, enforce government regulations, and conduct crowd, parking, and traffic control, inspections, and perimeter and internal access control. The ASG/Translator does not act in the capacity of a law enforcement officer and has no arrest or apprehension powers. The ASG/Translator is armed with a side arm, shotgun, or other weapons as required. The ASG/Translator must be able to interpret simple to moderate levels of Japanese when translating site defense related matters. \nResponsibilities\nRequired to follow all company personnel and safety policies and perform all assigned duties in a safe work manner. \nWill arrive at work in proper uniform and carrying needed, issued equipment \nWill be required to exercise force up to and including deadly force. \nRequired to operate effectively in a foreign nation environment, sensitive to cultural differences. \nWill participate in Guard Mount, receive assigned post, and copy any extra instructions. \nWill carry out general and special orders for post assigned \nWill communicate via radio, telephone and orally according to orders \nRequired to interact and escort as required with public and government personnel. \nWill provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions \nWill be responsible for cleanliness of uniform and equipment assigned. \nWill follow applicable standard operating procedures and government regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property and equipment \nWill conduct personnel, vehicular, building, & facility checks and package & parcel inspection \nMust be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays. \nOther duties as assigned \nQualifications\nMinimum High School Diploma or GED. \nMust be at least 21 years of age. \nMinimum two years’ experience preferably with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security guard organization. \nActive Secret Clearance Required \nMust be able to achieve a proficiency level of N3 on the Japanese Level Proficiency Test (JLPT) \nMust be able to interpret routine and emergency services requests from police, fire, the Japanese Coast Guard, and the Japanese Self Defense Forces.\nBe weapons certified and qualified in the use and handling of a 9mm hand-carry weapon, various individual and crew served weapons, and non-lethal OC. \nHonorably discharged (If Applicable). \nPass a Physical Agility Test: 1.5 mile run 17:30 minutes or less, 19 push-ups in 2:00 minutes or less \nPass an in-depth Background Check, Drug Screen and Physical Exam, Psychological Exam, Dental Exam, and Training Course \nSuccessfully completed all training and have obtained all required permits, licenses, certifications, and security clearances for the site. \nMust possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. \nThe guard must be able to effectively interpret simple to moderate levels of Japanese when translating site defense related matters \nMust speak, read, write, and understand the English language, apply written rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material. \nBe able to obtain Armed Security Guard License\nBe able to meet any Federal, State, or Municipal requirements to work as an Armed Security Guard. \nHave no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture during the previous five years. \nHave no felony convictions and no convictions that reflect on the individual’s reliability including those crimes classified under the Lautenberg Act. \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nSkill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment. \nMust have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook. \nPhysical Demands: (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
