We actively strive to channel our highly engaged employee’s knowledge, critical thinking, innovative solutions for our clients.\nResponsibilities\nsupporting design, preparation, execution, and analysis of studies and experimentation\nAssist with design, development, and accomplishment of project goals, particularly during field and laboratory experimentation\nAddress analytic, theoretical, scientific, and operational questions, solve analytic and technical problems, and execution analytic, theoretical, scientific, and administrative solutions while working with minimal strategic guidance and with a certain degree of creativity and latitude\nProvide experimentations, design, data acquisition, and data analysis services related to the Injury Biomechanics RDT&E program\nSupport Associate Investigators, Principal Investigators, Group Leadership, and study teams in preparation and execution of RDT&E laboratory and field studies\nAssist with research work plan and proposal development and execution by developing, maintaining, and recommending appropriate experimental fixture design and equipment testing procedures, and data collection and analysis techniques to execute project goals. \nProvide scientific analytical, engineering problem solving, design efforts, and experienced-based solutions related to creating, measuring, and evaluating biomechanical, kinematic, and physiologic responses\nDraft and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) that will ensure scientific and sound engineering principles and safety procedures are implemented and followed\nAnalyze and evaluate ongoing research through data and documentation, which may be self-prepared or prepared by others and can include in-house materials, internal government documentation/data, and public-released data/documentation\nPrepare for classical and injury biomechanics research studies, including collaborative work with industrial and academic partners, design work for fabrication of biomechanical test equipment/devices, troubleshooting instrumentation and other equipment necessary for research purposes\nProvide services in a team environment to meet customer, project timelines.\nAssist with the development or modification of experimental fixtures and systems, test equipment, data acquisition systems, and associated methodology and training to support high quality data collection\nActively conduct (hands-on) PMHS research, volunteer research, quality assurance, data analysis, BSL-2 good laboratory practice, and support publication of project findings.\nEnsure all team members follow laboratory safety and biosafety requirements and are accurately recording all laboratory procedures, research project data, data analyses, conclusions, and results in government-authorized notebooks and electronic systems\nDevelop and provide recommendations to improve laboratory data collection along with safety and biosafety requirements\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.\nDemonstrated knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, standards, and procedures related to mechanical design, biomedical experimentation, data acquisition, and analysis.\nExperience in programming, experimental testing, instrumentation, kinematic analysis, video motion capture, and MATLAB.\nDemonstrated experience with at least two of the following research areas or tools:\nInjury biomechanics research\nHuman volunteer research protections\nPMHS research\nNumerical analysis\nBlast, impact, ballistics testing\nMechanical testing devices\nAnthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs)\nHigh-speed imaging and analysis tools\nInstrumentation (load cells, accelerometers, pressure gauges)\nHigh-rate data acquisition systems\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting DoD or federal research laboratories.\nPrior experience with RDT&E programs.\nExperience supporting publication of scientific research findings.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team research environment.\nWillingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and safety compliance.\nEstimated Salary/Wage\nUSD $70,000.00/Yr.
