The INFOSEC/COMSEC Specialist provides expert support across multiple security disciplines, including communications security (COMSEC), information security (INFOSEC), personnel security, physical security, and classified systems protection.\nResponsibilities\nAdminister and maintain COMSEC account operations in accordance with applicable federal regulations, National Security Agency (NSA) guidance, NASA requirements, and organizational policies. \nSafeguard, control, inventory, distribute, and account for classified and unclassified Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI), cryptographic keying material, and secure communications equipment. \nMaintain complete and accurate accountability records for all COMSEC transactions and equipment assets. \nCoordinate receipt, transfer, issuance, return, destruction, and disposition of COMSEC material. \nConduct recurring inventories, inspections, and compliance reviews to ensure accountability and operational readiness. \nInvestigate discrepancies, security incidents, and potential compromises involving COMSEC materials and systems. \nCoordinate required reporting and corrective actions with the Central Office of Record (COR) and other authorized agencies. \nSupport implementation and administration of information security policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives. \nAssist with the protection of classified information, controlled unclassified information (CUI), sensitive operational information, and other protected data. \nMonitor security processes and identify vulnerabilities, compliance concerns, and opportunities for program improvement. \nSupport security assessments, audits, inspections, and accreditation activities. \nAssist with incident reporting, security inquiries, and investigations involving information security matters. \nInterpret and apply security regulations, directives, and procedural requirements to ensure compliance across supported operations. \nDevelop, coordinate, and maintain a comprehensive Security Education and Awareness Program in accordance with NASA and federal security requirements. \nCreate and deliver security briefings, training materials, workshops, and awareness campaigns that promote security best practices. \nDevelop and publish quarterly security awareness communications, newsletters, and educational resources. \nProvide guidance to employees regarding security responsibilities, reporting requirements, information protection practices, and COMSEC controls. \nServe as a resource to management and employees on security-related matters. \nProvide technical support for secure communications devices, cryptographic equipment, secure telephones, and secure conferencing systems. \nConfigure, load, install, troubleshoot, and maintain COMSEC-related equipment and associated components. \nCoordinate with information technology personnel and external support organizations to resolve equipment and service issues. \nSupport implementation of upgrades, equipment replacements, and technology refresh initiatives. \nServe as the contract point of contact for end-user service coordination related to assigned areas of responsibility. \nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred. \nMinimum of two (2) years of experience supporting information security, industrial security, communications security, personnel security, classified information management, or related security disciplines. \nExperience working with security policies, classified information, or controlled government programs. \nAbility to interpret and apply security regulations, directives, and procedures. \nStrong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nStrong customer service and interpersonal skills. \nMust possess and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance. \nAbility to successfully complete all required background investigations and maintain security eligibility.\nSuccessfully pass background and drug screening\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Information Systems, or a related field. \nExperience supporting NASA, Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or federal security programs. \nCOMSEC Custodian experience. \nExperience supporting SCI or Special Access Program environments. \nSecurity Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), Industrial Security Oversight Certification, COMSEC training certifications, or comparable credentials.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nWorking knowledge of COMSEC, INFOSEC, industrial security, personnel security, and physical security principles. \nKnowledge of classified information handling, accountability requirements, and secure communications procedures. \nUnderstanding of federal security regulations, intelligence community guidance, and security program requirements. \nAbility to analyze security issues, evaluate risks, and recommend effective solutions. \nStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. \nAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information. \nExperience developing reports, metrics, training materials, and security communications. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database applications. \nAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision. \nSkilled in building collaborative working relationships with customers, government personnel, and team
