As the first point of contact for emergency and non-emergency communications, the Dispatcher is responsible for receiving, processing, prioritizing, and coordinating responses to incidents affecting personnel, facilities, and mission-critical assets at Kennedy Space Center.\nResponsibilities\nAnswer and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service in a professional, timely, and efficient manner. \nEvaluate incoming information, assess priorities, and dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, emergency medical, security, or other emergency response personnel. \nMonitor incidents and maintain continuous communication with responders to ensure accurate information sharing and coordination. \nCoordinate emergency response activities during routine operations, critical incidents, security events, natural disasters, and contingency situations. \nMaintain situational awareness of ongoing activities affecting the security and safety of personnel, property, and facilities. \nAccurately document, track, and update incidents using the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. \nMaintain complete and chronological records of incident activities, actions taken, and communications received or transmitted. \nPrepare reports, logs, and documentation in accordance with departmental procedures and regulatory requirements. \nEnsure all records are accurate, complete, and maintained in compliance with applicable policies and standards. \nOperate and monitor:Emergency 911 and administrative telephone systems \nComputer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems \nTwo-way radio communications systems \nClosed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems \nFire and security alarm monitoring systems \nEmergency warning and notification systems \nCriminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) systems \nDriver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) \nIncident management and security monitoring platforms \n\nIdentify and communicate security, safety, or operational concerns requiring immediate action. \nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\n Minimum Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or GED required. \nMust meet and maintain applicable requirements of: \nNFPA 1061, Professional Qualifications for Public Safety Telecommunications Personnel \nNFPA 1221 standards related to emergency communications operations \nMust obtain and maintain certifications for:Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) \nNational Crime Information Center (NCIC) \nCriminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) \nDriver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) \nNational Incident Management System (NIMS) \nFEMA Incident Command System (ICS) courses as required \n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. \nSuccessfully pass background and drug screening\nPreferred Qualifications:\nOne (1) year or more of public safety dispatch, emergency communications center, 911 call center, military dispatch, security dispatch, or related experience. \nExperience operating CAD, alarm monitoring, radio communications, CCTV systems, or emergency notification platforms. \nExperience working in a law enforcement, fire service, emergency management, military, government, or security environment. \n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge of public safety communications principles, dispatch procedures, and emergency response protocols. \nFamiliarity with Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), radio communications systems, security monitoring technologies, and emergency notification systems. \nUnderstanding of incident command principles and emergency management procedures. \nKnowledge of records management and documentation requirements. \nAbility to remain calm, focused, and decisive during emergencies and high-stress situations. \nAbility to multitask efficiently while managing multiple incidents, communications channels, and system alerts simultaneously. \nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills. \nAbility to assess information quickly and prioritize responses appropriately. \nExcellent attention to detail and
