Join our team of professionals who support large-scale government operations by leveraging cutting-edge technology and take your career to the next level!\nThe Senior Software Developer supports the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions for the Aeronautical Navigation Office. The position applies expert technical knowledge to complex issues affecting multiple functional areas and collaborates with Product Owners, Quality Assurance Managers, the Chief Architect, and development teams to support customer needs, mission objectives, and product requirements.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with Product Owners, Quality Assurance Managers, the Chief Architect, and development teams in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions.\nParticipate in SAFe Agile activities, including daily team coordination, backlog refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.\nReview and implement software requirements, support task execution, and contribute to deployment activities.\nAdminister and modify existing Government Off-the-Shelf code and integrate open-source software solutions for display in a web application.\nDevelop and maintain solutions using C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and shell scripting, as applicable.\nCreate and document functionality in GitLab repositories and use DevOps principles and tools to deliver features within an Agile environment.\nTroubleshoot and resolve defects, maintain secure and agency-compliant code baselines, participate in code reviews, and document technical solutions.\nUse Jira, Confluence, and other team collaboration tools to support application development and delivery.\nHelp maintain overall system code coverage above 80 percent while supporting software quality, performance, and continuous improvement.\nCreate and maintain systems engineering documentation, including version description documents and diagrams.\nOther duties as assigned.\nThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree and 8+ or more years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree and 6+ or more years of relevant experience; doctorate in a technical domain; OR 8+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.Experience in software development or software integration projects in a service-oriented, cloud, web services, or virtualization environment.\nExperience with C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or shell scripting.\n\nDoD 8570 Certification Compliance at IAT Level II or III, including Security+ or an equivalent compliant certification.\nMust possess a Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access and a Counterintelligence Polygraph.\nSuccessfully pass background and drug screening.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n1+ year of experience with Department of Defense software requirements.\n8+ years of experience working in a government cloud environment.\nAWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps certification.\nActive TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nAbility to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.\nFamiliarity with systems engineering documentation creation, including version description documents and diagrams.\nExpert knowledge of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts, with the ability to develop solutions to complex technical issues affecting multiple functional areas or disciplines.\nBasic understanding of artificial intelligence tools and their applications in software development, including code assistance, debugging, documentation, and productivity enhancement.\nMust be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment.\nDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.\nAbility to plan and prioritize work, follow tasks to their logical conclusion, and maintain strong attention to detail.\nAbility to communicate clearly and efficiently with team members and clients, verbally and in writing.\nAbility to present technical ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.\nProficiency with team collaboration and development tools, including Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and Rocket.Chat.\nProactive self-starter with a positive, willing attitude and strong oral and written communication skills.\nHow you’ll grow\nAt Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
