As a member of our small, collaborative team, you will be responsible for interfacing directly with customers and government leads to gather and define technical requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive, client-facing engineer who excels at translating user needs into robust software solutions and thrives in a high-ownership, team-oriented environment.\nResponsibilities\nArchitect and develop the core application using Java, Spring Boot, and JPA.\nBuild a modern, responsive front-end with React, TypeScript, and MUI.\nDesign, build, and secure RESTful APIs for consumption by other critical systems.\nWork directly with customers to gather and refine requirements, often from high-level verbal communication.\nOperate within an Agile Scrum framework, participating in sprints, sprint reviews, and managing work through Jira.\nDesign and manage the application's PostgreSQL database on AWS RDS.\nDeploy, automate, and manage the AWS cloud-based system (C2S) to ensure availability, performance, and security, utilizing tools like GitLab CI/CD and Docker.\nDesign, create, and document cloud architecture diagrams and policies.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBA/BS in a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience OR\nHigh school diploma or GED and 10+ years of relevant experience\nProven experience developing applications with Java (preferably Spring Boot).\nExperience with modern JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular.\nExperience developing software in an AWS or C2S cloud environment.\nActive TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.\nSuccessfully pass background and drug screening\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nStrong experience with SQL (specifically PostgreSQL) and building RESTful APIs / Web Services.\nProficiency with development and CI/CD tools, including Git, GitLab CI/CD, and Docker.\nStrong working experience across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nDemonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and learn new systems in a fast-paced environment.\nFamiliarity with the following is a significant plus: NoSQL (DynamoDB), code analysis tools (SonarQube), or mapping libraries (Leaflet).\nHow you’ll grow\nAt Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
