This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about software development, automation, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and solving complex business problems through technology. As a Software Developer Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and architects to design, develop, test, and deploy applications, integrations, and automation solutions that support enterprise platforms including Conga, ServiceNow, AWS cloud services, AI-enabled applications, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Foundry and custom business systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills, a desire to learn modern development practices, and the ability to rapidly turn ideas into working solutions.\nResponsibilities\nSoftware Development\nAssist with application design, development, testing, and maintain custom software applications and automation solutions.\nAssist in building integrations between enterprise platforms, cloud services, and third-party applications.\nAssist in the development of APIs, workflows, scripts, dashboards, reports, and user-facing applications.\nParticipate in application modernization initiatives leveraging cloud-native technologies and AI capabilities.\nImplement bug fixes, enhancements, and performance improvements.\nEngineering & Quality\nParticipate in software design reviews and technical planning sessions.\nPerform unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshooting activities.\nSupport code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, process documentation, and system diagrams.\nAssist in deployment, migration, and release management activities.\nInnovation & Automation\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual processes through scripting, workflows, and AI-driven solutions.\nSupport development of internal tools that improve operational efficiency and reporting.\nAssist with implementation of Generative AI, Machine Learning, and intelligent automation capabilities where appropriate.\nExplore emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to business challenges.\nCollaboration\nWork closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to gather requirements.\nParticipate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.\nCommunicate project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions effectively.\nProvide support and knowledge-sharing across the MIOS IT organization.\nProfessional Growth\nComplete assigned technical training and certification pathways.\nDemonstrate increasing independence in solution design and delivery.\nDevelop expertise in enterprise platforms, cloud architecture, software engineering, and AI technologies.\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience OR\nAssociate degree with 4+ years of prior relevant experience OR\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent and 6+ years of experienceConfiguration/development skills in open-source environments\nExperience with JavaScript andor Perl.\n\nBackground check required\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with one or more programming languages:\nPython\nJavaScript/TypeScript\nC#\nJava\nSQL\nExperience with Git or other source control systems.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.\nExposure to API development and integration concepts.\nPortfolio, GitHub repository, personal projects, or internship experience demonstrating technical capability.)\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nUnderstanding of the SDLC\nAbility to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting\nMust be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment\nDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals\nFriendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.\nExcellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications\nProficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.\nAbility to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.\nGood problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.\nBasic knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design principles.\nFamiliarity with databases and SQL concepts.\nUnderstanding of REST APIs and web technologies.\nInterest in cloud computing, AI, automation, and enterprise applications.\nExperience using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.\nHow you’ll grow\nAt Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
