The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in full-stack software engineering, Agile software development, cloud technologies, and modern application architectures. The Software Engineer is responsible for leading software development efforts throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, and delivering secure, scalable, and reliable applications supporting national security missions. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions while ensuring software quality, performance, and maintainability.\nResponsibilities\nLead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise software applications supporting GEOINT mission requirements.\nParticipate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.\nDesign and develop scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions using modern object-oriented programming principles.\nDevelop full-stack web applications utilizing Python, Java, JavaScript, Django, REST APIs, AJAX, jQuery, and related technologies.\nArchitect and optimize relational database solutions using PostgreSQL and SQL.\nDesign and implement RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures supporting enterprise integrations.\nCollaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, software engineers, and system architects to define technical solutions and project priorities.\nDecompose large development efforts into manageable work packages and provide accurate Level of Effort (LOE) estimates.\nParticipate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.\nEnsure adherence to Agile software development best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.\nTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software defects across multiple environments.\nDevelop automated testing solutions and support continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.\nMaintain source code repositories utilizing Git and GitLab version control.\nSupport software deployments across Windows and Linux environments.\nApply GEOINT domain knowledge to validate system functionality, troubleshoot operational issues, and optimize data processing workflows.\nCollaborate with technical leadership to define software architectures, coding standards, and development best practices.\nMentor junior software engineers and provide technical guidance across development teams.\nSupport cloud-based application development and migration initiatives utilizing commercial cloud technologies.\nEnsure software solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and customer mission requirements.\nStay current with emerging software development technologies, frameworks, and engineering best practices.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline with 8+ years of progressively responsible Software Engineering experience ORMaster's degree with 6+ years of experience\n\nExperience to include:Experience developing enterprise software applications using Python, Java, JavaScript, and object-oriented programming principles.\nExperience developing web applications utilizing Django, REST APIs, AJAX, and related web technologies.\nExperience working with PostgreSQL, SQL, and relational database design.\nExperience supporting both Windows and Linux operating systems.\n\nActive TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph\nSuccessfully pass background and drug screening\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.\nExperience supporting GEOINT, Intelligence Community, DoD, or National Security programs.\nExperience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile team lead.\nExperience developing applications using React or other modern JavaScript frameworks.\nExperience designing Client-Server and Model-View-Controller (MVC) software architectures.\nExperience designing and deploying cloud-native applications.\nExperience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), IBM Cloud, or Oracle Cloud.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nAbility to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting\nMust be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment\nDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals\nFriendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.\nExcellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications\nProficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.\nAbility to provide technical assistance and support over the phone;
