Every year CHEO helps more than 500,000 children and youth from Eastern Ontario, western Quebec, Nunavut and Northern Ontario.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThe Quality Improvement (QI) Consultant will provide expert consultations, coaching and guidance to child and youth mental health and addictions agencies as they build, implement and maintain effective continuous quality improvement plans/frameworks within their organizations and across broader, integrated service systems. The QI Consultant has in-depth and advanced knowledge, skills and expertise in quality improvement, ideally achieved through Lean Six Sigma Black belt certification or progress towards such certification.\nThe QI Consultant will guide and facilitate teams using Lean Six Sigma improvement methodologies and will provide mentoring and coaching to Green belts, Yellow belts and teams involved in process improvement initiatives both within the Knowledge Institute and across community-based child and youth mental health and addictions agencies.\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES\nGuide and facilitate teams using Lean Six Sigma improvement methodologies throughout several external child and youth mental health and addictions agencies, as well as across the department:\nApply expertise in Lean Six Sigma to coach and guide leaders and project teams in child and youth mental health and addictions (CYMHA) agencies across the province through quality improvement initiatives.\nAct as team leader responsible for measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling key processes within the Knowledge Institute and across cohorts of external CYMHA agencies participating in the Knowledge Institute’s quality improvement program.\nOperate as a consultant, working with several project teams within the Knowledge Institute and externally, providing coaching and mentoring through QI projects and processes.\nDevelop templates for the Knowledge Institute’s and CYMHA agencies’ implementation and use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.\nDeliver Lean Six Sigma education using a variety of adult learning modalities including hands-on exercises and simulations and create, customize, and modify existing Lean training materials for the child and youth mental health and addictions sector based on needs assessments and knowledge of industry best practices:\nPlan, tailor and deliver Lean Yellow and White belt training to CYMHA service providers and leaders across the province.\nPlan, develop and deliver other Lean Six Sigma or quality improvement education for CYMHA service providers and leaders across the province.\nProvide individual mentoring and coaching to Green belts, Yellow belts and teams involved in process improvement initiatives both within the department and across external child and youth mental health and addictions agencies:\nCoach and mentor Green belt candidates and Green belt certified staff within the Knowledge Institute.\nCoach and mentor Green and Yellow belt candidates or certified staff within CYMHA agencies participating in the Knowledge Institute’s quality improvement program.\nTrain and coach QI project teams within the Knowledge Institute and externally.\nLead quality improvement project teams within the Knowledge Institute.\nSupport teams in determining indicators and data elements required with each process improvement project:\nEnsure strong foundation for data-driven QI projects by supporting teams to determine indicators and data elements required with each process improvement project.\nEstablish and maintain provincial networks and partnerships:\nLead or participate in key provincial or regional efforts, communities of practice or networks relating to continuous quality improvement in the child and youth mental health and addictions sector.\nConvene regional and provincial networks to inform the alignment of continuous quality improvement practices/processes provincially.\nDevelop, implement and evaluate new partnerships relating to continuous quality improvement in the child and youth mental health and addictions sector.\nMiscellaneous:\nWork closely with the Knowledge Institute’s leadership team on the development of its operational plans.\nRecommend areas of improvement within the Knowledge Institute’s quality improvement practices/processes to ensure evidence-based decision-making internally.\nMaintain documentation of activities per Knowledge Institute requirements.\n QUALIFICATIONS\nMaster’s degree in psychology, sociology, health systems policy, health administration or a related field (Essential)\nLean Black belt certification (or progress towards this certification) is required (Essential)\nProject Management Professional Certification by a recognized organization (Preferred) \nAdvanced knowledge of evaluation, performance measurement and implementation science (Essential)\nKnowledge of complexity, systems thinking and collective impact (Essential)\nDemonstrated ability to work within a consultative model with demonstrated experience
