Every year CHEO helps more than 500,000 children and youth from Eastern Ontario, western Quebec, Nunavut and Northern Ontario.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThe Supply Worker ensures clinical and support areas have the supplies they need by monitoring inventory levels and delivering stock as required. This role is essential in maintaining efficient operations and supporting frontline care.\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES\nReceive shipments of purchased goods; validate count against packing slip and Purchase Order. \nInspect freight upon arrival, document any signs of damage, and resolve freight claims with vendors in a timely manner. \nComplete transactions to receive product, process paperwork, and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures. \nDeliver stock to Materials Management and other departments or units as required. \nOperate electric and manual pallet jacks and other equipment to safely move inventory throughout the hospital. \nAssist Buyers to resolve inquiries related to receipt of goods and related matters. \nScan assigned units required for replenishment per an established daily Replenishment Schedule. \nInspect stock storage areas to ensure that necessary materials and supplies are available in user areas; check for out-of-stock items. \nHandle telephone requests from user areas on a daily basis. \nDeliver Critical and Urgent items from stores when requested. \nEnsure stock is rotated and expiry dates are checked to avoid wastage or expiry costs. \nMaintain a top-up area and Stores work area that is neat and tidy. \nExecute stock changes as directed by the Stores Supervisor. \nMake labels for items requested by user areas and as directed by the Stores Supervisor. \nPerform routine cycle counts to preserve inventory integrity and assist in expiry prevention. \nPerform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. \nQUALIFICATIONS\nCompletion of High School Diploma or the equivalent (Essential) \nRecognized course in Supply or Material Management (Preferred) \nPrevious experience in stores or inventory control (Essential) \nOne (1) year experience in a warehouse environment, preferably within a healthcare organization (Preferred) \nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills (Essential) \nAbility to deal with internal and external in a courteous and pleasant manner (Essential) \nDemonstrated working knowledge of surgical terminology and supplies (Essential) \nDemonstrated ability to adapt to changes to meet organizational requirements (Essential) \nDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively and concisely in English, both orally and in writing (Essentially) \nDemonstrated ability to take steps to ensure timely completion of tasks by adjusting priorities as required (Essential) \nDemonstrated ability to use computer software (Microsoft Word™, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, SharePoint) (Essential) \nPrevious experience with Workday (our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)) (Preferred) \nWorking knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation; general knowledge of corporate/program policies and procedures related to health and safety (Essential) \nPhysical ability to perform the duties of the position (Essential) \nAbility to work varying shifts (hours of work) as required by department operations (Essential) \nFlexible hours including evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required. \nCriminal Record Check (Level 1) (Essential) \nBilingualism (French/English) (Preferred) \n*Please note you will be represented by the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA).\nEffective March 29, 2021, CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive pre-screening and evaluation process.
