CHEP is looking for a motivated Plant Operations Supervisor on 2nd shift to join our team in Kilgore, TX!As a Plant Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in managing total plant operations and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost.\nKey Responsibilities May Include:\nProvide hands-on leadership by mentoring, coaching, and guiding employees, addressing employee relations issues, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.\nLead and enhance safety performance on shift, promoting a proactive safety culture through training, accident prevention, and rehabilitation programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.\nManage shift maintenance activities, resolving equipment breakdowns in coordination with the maintenance team to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives on shift, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across end to end operations.\nMonitor and manage the plant's operational costs and yield, working closely with the Plant Manager to optimize performance and contribute to the overall plant objectives.\nAddress performance and attendance matters in collaboration with HR, ensuring that all plant staff meet operational expectations.\nEnsure full compliance with CHEP procedures and work instructions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in line with company standards and operational goals.\nShift\nCurrent: 4pm - 12:30am\nEffective April 13: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM\nDirect Reports: 25+\nThe Plant Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in managing total plant operations and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost.\nMajor/Key Accountabilities\nSupervise the work of all production employees - oversees production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods.\nProvide hands-on leadership as a supervisor, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees and working through employee relations issues.\nSupport plant administration to ensure compliance to established policies\nResponsible, in consultation with Plant Manager, for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant.\nSupport cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant.\nReview operations activities, including local transportation activities, to maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD)\nDrive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the Plant\nEnsure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant in accordance with the PMS Commercial Organization, Global Supply Chain\nDeliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability.\nEnsure compliance through teamwork for all Standard Operating Procedures within the Plant\nIdentify Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste\nIn partnership with Plant Manager, provide leadership to Plant staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities\nDrive efficiencies in asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, & driver management while meeting customer expectations.\nExperience\nPrior experience in a plant supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environment\nFamiliarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful\nStrong customer focus orientation\nStrong people management capability including non-exempt production workforce\nDemonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations\nDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionally\nExperience managing safety performance and programs\nUnderstanding of supply chain practices and metrics and data analysis\nFamiliarity with Lean Thinking concepts and practices\nSkills and Knowledge\nAbility to build effective teams\nExcellent problem solving and critical thinking skills\nCoaching and Conflict Management Skills\nExcellent Communication skills\nProject Management skills\nComputer Skills\nExcellent delegation skills\nQualifications\nDesirable Qualifications\nLean & Six Sigma certification desirable.\nBachelor’s in operations/Supply Chain or equivalent\nWhat we Offer:\n·Competitive Pay w/ Shift Differential\n·Benefits Day 1!\n·401K w/ company match (up to 4%)\n·FREE company-paid vision, short-term disability, and lifeinsurance!!\n·FREE company-provided PPE and safetyequipment\n·Tuition reimbursement, parental leave, childcareassistance, profit sharing, and MORE!\nCompensation Statement:\nThe salary range for this position is $61,680 -
