Fills containers of varying size according to shop orders. Handles hazardous raw materials and finished goods. Operates fork truck and other machines on a regular basis. Maintains and/or monitors the quality of packages. May instruct trainees/assistants in all packaging operations.\nJob Model: On-Site\nAll fully remote positions have no regular expected onsite scheduled days. Fully remote employees may be required to come onsite due to business needs.\nHybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.\nOn-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.\nA typical day at work would include:\nConsults daily shop orders to determine products to be packaged, and the quantity, size, type and number of containers required.\nRetrieves raw materials. Operates fork truck to retrieve packaging materials, ie, containers, etc. from the Warehouse.\nSets up packaging (filling) equipment as specified by shop order. Will be trained to operate several different machines used for mixing and dispensing chemical productsto .\nProvides coating samples to quality lab for quality checks before packaging.\nUses a scale to weigh finished product, before and during packaging operation. Records - weights for documentation purposes.\nPerforms basic quality control inspection of packaging materials, containers, and product for proper condition including cleanliness and quality of package.\nAssembles and stencils cartons and applies labels to containers as specified by shop order.\nUtilizes Aerosol Labeler machine as required to label aerosol cans. Uses Bar Coding Computer.\nPlaces filled containers/cartons on skids and prepares for shipping/warehousing. Prepares relevant documentation.\nDisposes properly of hazardous waste.\nRegular participation in 5S and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) activities. \nCleans packaging equipment and work area according to safety procedures.\nReturns excess material to inventory.\nResponsible for receiving and handling bulk materials.\nExperience you need coming into this job:\n1+ years experience in a manufacturing operations environment.\nWorks with minimal supervision. Must be capable of working independently. General instructions provided as needed.\nMust be capable of exercising judgment and discretion and make adjustments to product as required.\nAbility to wear a respirator and handle hazardous materials.\nAbility to troubleshoot problems.\nAbility to use a scale and make adjustments as required.\nAbility to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.\nMust possess basic grammar and math skills, ie, proper use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction and weights.\nMust be able to operate fork-trucks, drum lifts and other equipment to assist in lifting of up to 400-700 Pounds.\nBasic computer skills, ie, ability to operate a Bar Coding computer a plus.\nInterpersonal skills.\nAbility to work under pressure and work well with others.\nAbility to train entry level employees.\nAbility to work in an uncomfortable environment, ie heat and noise.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.\nMust be trained in spill response and safety equipment.\nAbility to understand and adhere to all safety procedures.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Moderate to high levels of heat, noise and fumes exists daily in the work environment. Position works with hazardous chemicals.
