Meeting the world’s growing energy needs requires the pursuit of innovations and advancements that deliver a better future for all.\nAbout the position:\nAs a Data Engineer, you will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of data solutions that enable Digital Twin initiatives and enterprise analytics. You will work with senior data engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to develop data pipelines, integrations, and data quality solutions across engineering systems and cloud platforms. This role provides an opportunity to build technical expertise in Facilities Engineering data, Digital Twin solutions, and Agile software delivery within the Oil & Gas industry.\nTechnical Skills:\nData Engineering\nWorking knowledge of the Azure data platform, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and cloud-based data solutions.\nProficiency in Python programming for data processing and automation.\nUnderstanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data modeling fundamentals.\nFamiliarity with data governance, data quality, and data profiling practices.\nExperience developing reports, dashboards, or analytics solutions.\nUnderstanding of DevOps practices, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience working with SQL databases, REST APIs, data lakes, and other structured and unstructured data sources.\nKnowledge of data integration and transformation techniques for engineering and operational data.\nFacilities Engineering Data Services & Workflows\nSupport functional testing and unit testing of data pipelines, models, and data products.\nAssist with implementation of data quality rules and resolution of data defects.\nFamiliarity with tag aliasing, entity resolution, and entity relationship management.\nBasic understanding of tag-to-document associations and information management taxonomies (e.g., CFIHOS).\nSupport the creation and maintenance of data quality reports.\nPerform data enrichment and augmentation activities to improve engineering datasets.\nAssist in tag extraction and scraping activities from engineering documents.\nBuild and support API connectors for engineering and operational data sources.\nProduct Development\nAssist with the design and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models.\nDevelop and support data pipelines, data validation rules, and testing activities.\nParticipate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.\nSupport requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment of data solutions.\nApply data analytics techniques to support business decision-making.\nSeek guidance from senior data engineers and actively participate in knowledge sharing and skill development activities.\nSoft Skills:\nTeamwork & Collaboration\nWork effectively with business owners, analysts, product owners, data engineers, and other project team members.\nContribute to Agile delivery teams and support successful execution of sprint commitments.\nDemonstrate a willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and business processes.\nCommunication\nEffectively communicate technical information to team members and stakeholders.\nParticipate in requirements gathering sessions and discussions with business users.\nDocument technical solutions, data requirements, test results, and process improvements.\nProblem Solving & Organization\nDemonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nInvestigate data quality issues and support root cause analysis activities.\nManage assigned tasks effectively and deliver high-quality work within established timelines.\nSupport process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.\nChevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday.
