This role will be based in 6750 Building, Makati City, Philippines.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:\nWe are looking for a Project Manager for Payroll to lead and deliver complex payroll initiatives across countries, systems, and vendors. This role is critical in ensuring payroll projects are executed on time, within scope, and with strong compliance, controls, and stakeholder alignment.\nThe ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll domain knowledge, structured project management capability, and the confidence to lead cross functional teams through change, transitions, and continuous improvement.\nPayroll & Functional Leadership\nLead end-to-end payroll projects across multiple locations, including implementations, optimizations, and transitions.\n\nPartner with Payroll Operations, HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, and IT to ensure seamless upstream and downstream integration.\n\nIdentify risks, dependencies, and compliance requirements; drive timely resolution and mitigation.\n\nProject Management (Skilled Level)\nLead complex, cross-functional payroll projects from initiation through stabilization.\n\nOwn project plans, schedules, budgets, RAID logs, and status reporting.\n\nManage interdependencies across systems (HRIS, Time & Attendance, Payroll, GL) and vendors.\n\nDrive delivery of agreed outcomes, capture lessons learned, and embed improvements.\n\nChange & Stakeholder Management\nDesign and execute change activities including communications, training coordination, and readiness tracking.\n\nBuild strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders; manage expectations and resolve conflicts.\n\nPrepare clear materials and updates for senior stakeholders and steering committees.\n\nVendor & Transition Management\nLead vendor-related initiatives such as payroll provider transitions, RFP support, and SLA definition.\n\nManage vendors and consultants for outcomes, ensuring adherence to SLAs and delivery milestones.\n\nOversee data migration, parallel runs, and cutover activities to ensure payroll continuity.\n\nCompliance, Controls & Governance\nEnsure payroll projects align with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit standards.\n\nLead audit readiness activities related to project scope and track issues to closure.\n\nMaintain strong documentation, SOP updates, and audit trails.\n\nContinuous Improvement & Digital Enablement\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation.\n\nUse data (defects, cycle time, SLAs) to drive prioritization and decision-making.\n\nSupport adoption of digital tools, integrations, and reporting solutions in payroll delivery.\n\nAbout You\nWe know our greatest resource is the ingenuity, creativity and innovation of our people. Applications from motivated and talented individuals with a keen interest in the energy industry are encouraged.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Experience:\nRequired Skills & Experience\nPayroll & Finance\nStrong understanding of end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries or entities.\n\nWorking knowledge of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and month-end processes.\n\nExperience supporting compliance, audits, and statutory requirements.\n\nProject & Change Management\nProven experience leading complex payroll or HR transformation projects.\n\nStrong grasp of project lifecycle management, dependency management, and risk mitigation.\n\nHands-on experience delivering change management activities and driving adoption.\n\nVendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nExperience managing payroll vendors, consultants, and third-party providers.\n\nDemonstrated ability to partner effectively with HR, IT, Finance, Tax, and Legal teams.\n\nDigital & Analytical Capability\nFamiliarity with HRIS, payroll systems, T&A, and GL integrations.\n\nAbility to analyze issues, identify root causes, and propose practical, data-driven solutions.\n\nCommunication & Leadership\nClear, structured communicator with the ability to translate complexity into actionable insights.\n\nConfident leading meetings, steering committees, and cross-functional forums.\n\nAble to coach team members and contribute to capability building.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with multi-country payroll implementations or vendor transitions.\n\nExposure to shared services or global payroll operating models.\n\nProject Management certification is an advantage.\n\nEverything we do at Chevron is guided by our values and our commitment to The Chevron Way (https://www.chevron.com/about/the-chevron-way).
