In this critical position, you will lead and support the continuous improvement of safety and operational procedures while collaborating closely with unit leadership and cross-functional business groups. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence environmental compliance and optimize production processes within a dynamic and safety-focused chemical manufacturing environment. You will serve as a key contributor in steering initiatives that ensure stable, safe, and efficient unit operations while driving alignment to organizational goals and regulatory requirements.\nOur ideal candidate excels in problem-solving and operational oversight, able to navigate complex technical challenges while fostering a culture of safety and teamwork. You will be instrumental in facilitating changes that prioritize safety and minimize environmental impact, and in preparing vital compliance reports that support our commitment to environmental stewardship. This position is well-suited for a motivated individual eager to grow within a collaborative, innovative workplace dedicated to sustainability and operational integrity.\nResponsibilities\nActs as a safety leader in the unit and champions safety with every decision made.\nProvides operations oversight and assistance for support group efforts.\nAssists in the preparation of daily operating instructions.\nMonitors the process operating conditions of the unit and troubleshoots operating problems. Works with Operations Specialist, Superintendent, and shifts to adjust operating conditions as needed.\nParticipates in PHAs, and unit audits. Resolves recommendations and findings.\nLead MOCs required for unit safety, stability and optimized operations. Ensure MOCs and NOCs are accurate and well communicated.\nFacilitates incident investigations. Develops and drives recommendations to completion.\nPrepare environmental and PSM emissions calculations and reports.\nAssists in the preparation of Monthly Title V reports.\nOptimize operations to reduce emissions.\nMaintains open and effective communication on and across all shifts within department, unit leadership, other operating units, business groups, and other functional support personnel.\nWorks with Unit Supt. to develop and steward budget compliance and forecasts to continuously prioritize the needs of the Unit.\nSupports OMC priorities and removal of maintenance barriers as needed for the unit; including SAP backlog reduction efforts, PM and recommendation completion.\nParticipate in maintenance scheduling and outage planning.\nParticipates in bad actor resolution and road map to accomplish improvement goals.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering\n3+ years’ experience in related engineering fields\nExperience with SAP and other databases/applications.\nAble to demonstrate skills in evaluating and prioritizing work to ensure alignment with the department's goals.\nPromotes safety, environmental and operational excellence improvements.\nChevron Phillips Chemical offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package and at most locations, alternate work schedules.
