This role provides technical support and stewardship for the Cedar Bayou facility's electrical power distribution systems, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of substations, switchgear, transformers, motors, and protective relaying systems. Responsibilities include identifying and eliminating equipment failures, improving asset reliability, supporting maintenance and capital project activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and industry best practices while driving continuous improvement in electrical system performance and lifecycle management.\nResponsibilities\nImplements corporate Mechanical Integrity program at the site.\nCollects and analyzes reliability metrics to identify bad actors.\nParticipates in the development, design and installation of predictive maintenance programs and technology applications to identify and eliminate defects.\nCoordinates with site stakeholders to establish and maintain the proper stocking levels of parts and equipment required to provide maximum equipment uptime at the lowest possible costs.\nExecutes the identification and elimination of bad actors and the optimization of equipment availability.\nMonitors field inoperable equipment logs for remediation needs.\nAssesses and adjusts specific equipment tolerances and specifications.\nParticipate in equipment failure investigations and cause analysis and implement action items to prevent recurrence using Cause Analysis tools.\nPlans and coordinates projects from inception to completion ensuring efficient implementation, timely completion, and compliance to budget. Contributes to larger capital projects (CAPEX).\nContributes to site efforts to implement Process Safety Management elements at the site.\nSpecial assignments\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering\nMinimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience\nPreferred Qualifications\n7 Years of electrical engineering experience\nKnowledge/experience with SAP, APM, and PowerDB\nExperience with electrical reliability analysis (ACA, FMEA, Bad Actors, MTTR, MTBF) and improvement processes\nBasic understanding of performance and failure analysis assessment tools such as RCA, Criticality, FMEA, MTBF, 5-Why/Why Tree, or others\nWorking knowledge of low and medium voltage (5kV-34.5kV) electrical equipment including switchgear, MCC, motors, UPS, transformers, and MV/LV VFDs (AB, Toshiba, Eaton, Siemens)\nExperience in the repair of DC/AC motors\nExperience with high voltage utility (138 kV)\nExperience with industry codes and standards.
