Meeting the world’s growing energy needs requires the pursuit of innovations and advancements that deliver a better future for all.\nRole Overview\nWe are looking for a senior data engineer with 6-8 years of experience\nin designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms leveraging the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The role requires expertise in data integration, data transformation, cloud-native data architectures, and data governance to enable reliable, secure, and scalable analytics solutions across the enterprise.\nExperience with visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI is preferred at a familiarity level to support collaboration with analytics and business intelligence teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Lake.\n\nBuild scalable ETL/ELT frameworks to ingest, transform, and process structured and unstructured data from multiple enterprise sources.\n\nDevelop and optimize data models for enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases.\n\nIntegrate data from APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications such as ServiceNow, SAP, and other business systems.\n\nEnsure data quality, lineage, governance, security, and compliance across the data platform.\n\nImplement performance tuning and optimization for large-scale datasets and data processing workloads.\n\nCollaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to design reliable and scalable data solutions.\n\nSupport DevOps and CI/CD practices for data platform deployment and lifecycle management.\n\nRequired Skills\nStrong experience with Azure Data Engineering services:\n\nAzure Data Factory\n\nAzure Data Lake Storage\n\nAzure Synapse Analytics / Microsoft Fabric\n\nAzure SQL Database\n\nAdvanced SQL and data modelling skills.\n\nExperience in ETL/ELT design and implementation.\n\nPython and/or Spark for data processing and automation.\n\nData warehousing and lakehouse architecture concepts.\n\nExperience integrating APIs and enterprise data sources.\n\nKnowledge of data governance, security, and access control frameworks.\n\nExperience working with Git, CI/CD, and cloud-native deployment practices.\n\nGood to Have\nFamiliarity with Power BI or other data visualization platforms.\n\nExperience with Databricks, AI/ML, predictive analytics, or real-time streaming architectures.\n\nExposure to Power Apps, Power Automate, and low-code platforms.\n\nExperience with industrial, operational technology (OT), or enterprise asset management data domains.\n\nChevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday.
