This role ensures reliable plant operation, supports safety and compliance programs, and drives continuous improvement in maintenance practices.This is a hands-on role requiring advanced technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.\nSpecialty Operations business unit is accepting online applications for the position Senior Instrumentation & Electrical Specialist located at Seneca, IL through November 4th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).\nSummary\nThe Senior I&E Specialist is responsible for the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation, electrical systems, and process control equipment throughout the facility. This role ensures reliable plant operation, supports safety and compliance programs, and drives continuous improvement in maintenance practices.\nThis is a hands-on role requiring advanced technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.\nResponsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:\nInstrumentation & Controls\nInstall, calibrate, and maintain field instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level transmitters).\nTroubleshoot control loops, signal issues (4-20 mA, HART, Modbus, etc.).\nMaintain and repair control valves, positioners, and regulators.\nSupport PLC/DCS systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).\nInterpret P&IDs, loop sheets, and wiring diagrams.\nElectrical Systems\nMaintain and troubleshoot low and medium-voltage electrical systems.\nWork with MCCs, VFDs, motors, and power distribution systems.\nPerform motor testing, wiring, and replacement.\nRespond to electrical failures and support root cause analysis.\nMaintenance & Reliability\nExecute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.\nDiagnose recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions.\nAssist with equipment upgrades, shutdowns, and capital projects.\nMaintain accurate work orders and documentation (CMMS). \nSafety & Compliance\nEnsure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site safety procedures.\nParticipate in LOTO, arc flash, and confined space programs.\nSupport environmental and process safety standards.\nCollaboration\nCoordinate with operations, engineering, and contractors.\nMentor junior technicians and support skill development across the team. \nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of industrial I&E experience (chemical, refining, manufacturing, or similar).\nStrong knowledge of: Process instrumentation and calibration, Electrical troubleshooting (480V systems and below), Control systems (PLC/DCS), Maintaining and troubleshooting, Emerson DeltaV distributed control systems (DCS).\nAbility to read and interpret: P&IDs, Electrical schematics, Loop diagrams, Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate or Technical Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field.\nJourneyman Electrician or equivalent certification.\nExperience with: Hazardous area classifications (Class I Div 1/2), Vibration analysis, thermography, or predictive maintenance tools and SAP, Maximo, or other CMMS platforms.\nStrong attention to detail and documentation discipline.\nAbility to prioritize work in a fast-paced plant environment.\nLeadership and mentoring capability.\n Strong safety mindset\nWork Conditions\nIndustrial plant environment (outdoor/indoor exposure).\nOn-call or off-hours support as needed.\nPhysical requirements include climbing, lifting, and confined space entry.\nRelocation Options:\nRelocation may be considered.\nInternational Considerations:\nExpatriate assignments won't be considered.\nIMPORTANT NOTE\nAs part of the application process, you will be required to take an assessment that measures aptitude and work styles.
