Meeting the world’s growing energy needs requires the pursuit of innovations and advancements that deliver a better future for all.\nAbout the position:\nThe Senior Integration Software Engineer role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining subsurface software applications and Petrel plug-ins. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements design, develop, and maintain Petrel plugins and workflows that support subsurface interpretation and modeling. Key skills include Petrel Development (Ocean SDK), Object Oriented Programming (C#, C++, .Net), Python, Azure, and applications integration.\nKey responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain desktop and cloud-based integration solutions using modern software stacks.\n\nCollaborate with geoscientists and engineers to translate domain workflows into robust software applications that reduce subsurface uncertainty and cycle times.\n\nBuild and maintain APIs and data pipelines that support seismic interpretation, geologic modeling, and reservoir characterization business capabilities.\n\nIntegrate AI/ML models into interpretation and earth modeling workflows to enhance automation and predictive capabilities.\n\nEnsure software quality, usability, and performance through unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment strategies.\n\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.\n\nProvide technical mentorship and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.\n\n Required Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, computer science, or engineering (master’s degree preferred).\n\nAt least 7 years of professional software development experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry with subsurface geology and geophysics domain knowledge.\n\nProficiency in OOP including C++ and C#, Python, .Net Framework, Azure services, and DevOps.\n\nProficiency in Plugin development with subsurface static/dynamic modeling applications like Petrel (Ocean SDK).\n\nExperience with multi-thread/parallel computing, AI/ML, HPC, Docker, and Kubernetes.\n\nKnowledge and working experience of software architecture & design patterns.\n\nUnderstanding authentication and cybersecurity protocols including OAuth.\n\nFamiliarity and experience with OpenGL, Qt, and OSDU is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with Petrel, Techlog, Studio, and related subsurface tools is a strong plus\n\nSoft skills:\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nProven ability to work independently and in a cross-functional collaborative team environment.\n\nAbility to adapt to new technologies and changing business requirements.\n\nAbility to mentor and grow others’ technical capabilities, share knowledge/experience, and collaborate with domain experts\n\nWhat we can offer you\nEverything we do at Chevron is guided by our values and our commitment to The Chevron Way.\nHave the opportunity to take part in world-leading energy projects, advance your professional development and expand your career within an inclusive and collaborative workplace.\nJoin a workplace where innovation, collaboration and safety are at the core of how we work.\n\nWork in thoughtfully designed environments that support focus, well-being, and innovation enhanced by digital tools that enable seamless collaboration.\n\nGrow through structured learning, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to impactful projects that align with Chevron’s values and business priorities.\n\nAccess comprehensive benefits that support your health, well-being, and work-life balance.\n\nEngage with emerging technologies and digital solutions that are shaping the future of energy and enterprise.\n\nChevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world.
