Meeting the world’s growing energy needs requires the pursuit of innovations and advancements that deliver a better future for all.\nAbout the Position\nThe Chevron ENGINE - Senior Industrial Network Engineer is responsible for consulting, designing and deploying networking technologies and solutions for the enterprise and its business partners. As a team member, you will use your infrastructure experience and network knowledge to serve as a subject matter expert and project consultant, improving or introducing network capabilities that enable business outcomes while protecting Chevron from external and internal threats. You will work closely with architects, business partners, managed service partners, vendors, cybersecurity teams, infrastructure teams and digital platforms to solve difficult and rapidly changing technical challenges. Where new technologies are introduced, you will partner with Operations to ensure a successful transition.\nThe Senior Industrial Network Engineer will work with modern technologies and engage in global projects and initiatives across business, industrial and process control networks. The role requires strong knowledge of industrial routing and switching, Cisco SD-WAN and Cisco DNA Center/Catalyst Center, industrial wireless, network access control using Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass, and industrial asset visibility using Cisco Cyber Vision. The successful candidate will identify appropriate network solutions, implement resilient and secure infrastructure in accordance with engineering standards and company security policies, demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, follow industry developments and collaborate effectively across global teams.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, implement and maintain resilient business and industrial LAN, WAN, routing and switching solutions across plant and enterprise environments.\nDevelop network architecture standards for IP addressing, VLANs, VRFs, routing protocols, QoS, redundancy and high availability.\nDesign and govern Cisco SD-WAN architecture, policy, path selection, resilience, failover testing and multi-site lifecycle management.\nCatalyst Center for network assurance, automation, visibility and operational governance.\nDesign, review and troubleshoot industrial wireless solutions, including coverage, roaming, redundancy, interference, security and integration with plant networks.\nValidate and maintain device authentication, authorization and access policies using Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass or equivalent network access control platforms.\nDeploy and operate Cisco Cyber Vision capabilities, including sensor integration, industrial asset visibility, baselining and security-event investigation.\nGather requirements and work with internal stakeholders to design network infrastructure that supports secure and reliable industrial operations.\nCreate technical design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, operational standards and recovery procedures.\nProvide Tier 3 support for major incidents using packet captures, route analysis, device logs and end-to-end path validation, coordinating vendors and service providers when required.\nFollow standard change-management processes and participate in business continuity and disaster-recovery exercises supporting the network environment.\nWork with team, architects, operations, cybersecurity teams and business stakeholders to deliver solutions, improve processes and transition new technologies into operational support.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.\n10-15 years of network engineerin experience, including significant experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy or critical-infrastructure environments.\nAdvanced English-language communication skills.\nCCNP or an equivalent advanced networking certification.\nExpert knowledge of advanced routing and switching, including VLANs, VRFs, STP, OSPF, BGP, QoS, multicast, redundancy, high availability and complex industrial network troubleshooting.\nStrong Cisco SD-WAN and Cisco Catalyst Center experience covering architecture, policy, assurance, automation, resilience and multi-site governance.\nHands-on industrial wireless experience covering design review, survey interpretation, coverage, roaming, redundancy, security and troubleshooting.\nKnowledge Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass experience for device authentication, authorization and network access policy.\nKnowledge Cisco Cyber Vision experience covering deployment, sensor integration, industrial asset visibility, baselining and security-event investigation.\nStrong technical documentation, change control, incident leadership and stakeholder communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience designing and supporting industrial networks across brownfield and greenfield sites.\nExperience integrating routing, switching, SD-WAN, network access control, wireless and Cisco Cyber Vision within secure and resilient plant environments.\nRelevant certifications in Cisco Enterprise, Security, Wireless, SD-WAN or industrial cybersecurity.\nStrong written and verbal communication, business negotiation, influencing, conflict-resolution and technical decision-making skills.\nChevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday.
