This role ensures materials are sourced, stocked, and delivered on time while maintaining strong vendor relationships, strict cost controls, and full compliance with procurement and safety standards. The Buyer partners closely with Finance, Operations, and suppliers to keep the network running efficiently with uninterrupted supply availability.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nOversee end-to-end non-inventory procurement for Chewy Fulfillment Centers.\nManage purchasing for a range of indirect categories including corrugate, shipping materials, consumables, and other non-inventory supplies.\nDevelop an ABC stocking strategy for non-inventory materials and execute weekly planning to maintain appropriate stock levels that meet Days on Hand (DOH) targets.\nLead daily non-inventory counts and maintain accurate records across shared procurement systems.\nEnter, track, and manage purchase requests to ensure timely, accurate ordering and delivery of all non-inventory items.\nMonitor vendor performance, escalate issues to Procurement leadership, and support resolution of contract or service-level challenges.\nWork closely with Finance and Operations to ensure compliance with budget targets, identify cost variances, and support corrective action planning when deviations occur.\nEnsure compliance with corporate procurement policies, financial controls, and all safety requirements.\nProvide visibility to weekly delivery schedules and oversee safe offloading and stocking of non-inventory materials.\nMaintain well-organized, safe, and compliant non-inventory staging areas aligned with 6S standards.\nRepresent Procurement in site management meetings, Gemba walks, and 6S building audits.\nWhat You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field; equivalent experience considered.\n3+ years of procurement, supply chain, or buying experience in a high-volume operational environment.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate Excel required.\nStrong understanding of indirect procurement and inventory management practices.\nProficiency in procurement systems, ERP platforms, and spreadsheet analysis.\nStrong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment with high attention to detail.\nBonus:\nExperience in a fulfillment center, distribution, or logistics environment.\nFamiliarity with 6S, lean processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nComfortable working in a pet-friendly environment.\nWhy Chewy?\nAt Chewy, we’re on a mission to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents everywhere.
