This role will play a key part in the preparation of Chewy’s external SEC financial statements and support technical accounting activities driven by business growth and new initiatives.\nThis position will oversee the initial preparation of SEC filings, working closely with senior leadership to ensure high-quality, timely, and compliant financial reporting. The Manager will also contribute to technical accounting research and documentation while helping to develop and mentor junior team members.\n What You’ll Do:\nLead all aspects of the initial preparation of external SEC financial statements, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q\n\nPrepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements\n\nUtilize financial reporting and consolidation tools such as Oracle FCCS and Workiva to produce accurate and timely filings\n\nCoordinate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Finance, Legal, Tax) to gather and validate information for disclosures\n\nSupport the preparation of earnings materials and other external reporting deliverables\n\nPrepare technical accounting memos related to new business activities, transactions, and accounting standards\n\nResearch and analyze accounting issues, detailing conclusions in accordance with US GAAP\n\nPartner with leadership to implement new accounting standards and disclosure requirements\n\nAssist in improving financial reporting processes, controls, and documentation to improve efficiency and accuracy\n\nSupport internal and external audit requests related to financial reporting and technical accounting\n\nMentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance and review of work product\n\n What You’ll Need:\nBA/BS in Accounting; CPA required\n\n6+ years of experience in financial reporting and/or technical accounting\n\nExperience with SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q) for a public company\n\nPrior experience in Big 4/public accounting and/or industry preferred\n\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements\n\nExperience with Oracle FCCS, Workiva, or similar financial reporting tools\n\nStrong technical accounting research and writing skills\n\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions\n\nAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment\n\nUnderstanding of SOX and internal control frameworks\n\nChewy is an equal opportunity employer.
