The role will have wide visibility in the technology & business organization of Chewy.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nManage a team of full stack software engineers to building Chewy’s engineering platforms\nRecruit and hire new engineers and mentor the growth of the existing team\nDrive technical decisions and work across technical and non-technical organizations to prioritize and drive engineering investments.\nReview implementations, provide feedback for individual contributors\nEstablish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams\nCollaborate on design and implementation of scalable environments for development and testing\nIdentify and manage priorities within the context of Team objectives, drive 1-year plans.\nWork with others in Engineering Management to drive best practices in software development, testing, and production deployment\nWhat You’ll Need:\nBachelor’s Degree (MIS or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience\nDemonstrated history of implementing and managing significant software development projects (APIs, data stores, rules engines, scaling web application development)\nAbility to turn complex challenges into organized, scaling, technical solution\n6+ years of experience in Software Development as a software engineer\n1+ years of experience in Engineering Management, experience managing a 6+ person team through multiple release cycles.\nSolid fundamental background in testing disciplines (e.g. APIs, Functional UI testing, Performance testing, data-oriented systems test, distributed systems, etc)\nFamiliarity with different technology stacks including both static and dynamic programming languages (we primarily use Java, but are not limited to Java/JVM tools), as well as building data pipelines.\nProven delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology\nMust be more than proficient at both written and spoken English\nBonus:\nExperience driving cross-team engineering excellence initiatives\nUnderstanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery\nExperience building applications using AWS services\nThe specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
