Join the team that understands that caring for the pets we love starts with greater care for our veterinary Team Members.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nServe to support your practice team, setting the bar for providing high-level, competent veterinary support care and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture to work collaboratively with your peers and deliver the pet parent WOW experience.\n\nResponsible for implementing the outlined policies and procedures, utilizing integrated technology, and delivering consistent and appropriate medical care within the given skill set.\n\nPerform and assist with diagnostics (fecals, cytology, urinalysis, bloodwork)\n\nDraw blood from common venipuncture sites\n\nOperate and maintain in-house lab machines\n\nObtain and process pre-surgical diagnostics (ECG, bloodwork, etc.)\n\nLead anesthesia induction and provide advanced surgical monitoring and support\n\nOperating room prep and assistance\n\nPrepare surgical equipment and supplies, maintaining asepsis\n\nPosition patients and take diagnostic radiographs with proper collimation and understand radiology safety\n\nProvide surgical assistance under direct supervision of DVM\n\nAdvanced dentistry - perform dental prophylaxis and take full-mouth dental x-rays\n\nPlace IV catheters, administer medications and fluids, and provide inpatient care\n\nCalculate, prepare, and reconstitute medications; manage controlled substances\n\nMaintain controlled substance logs and assist with inventory needs\n\nProvide advanced patient and critical care (triage, oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring)\n\nAid in resuscitation efforts\n\nObtain thorough patient histories and ensure complete SOAP documentation\n\nSupport veterinarians to ensure safe patient treatment in alignment with Chewy Vet Care’s Standards of Care\n\nLead technician appointments and mentor others\n\nPIMS administrative super-user; aid others\n\nUnderstand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOCs)\n\nAssist practice manager with communicating on inventory needs.\n\nClean workspaces after every patient or patient lab sample interaction.\n\nParticipation in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.\n\nPerform related duties and assignments as directed by management.\n\nWhat you’ll need:\nVeterinary technician certification or licensure preferred (or eligibility to obtain).\n\nDemonstrated ability to complete the veterinary technician skills checklist for Veterinary Technician I, II and III\n\nMinimum of 7 years of practice experience (general practice & surgery); 3+ years leadership or mentorship experience preferred.\n\nMinimum of 1 year experience with inventory management.\n\nProven ability to lead by example in delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.\n\nStrong leadership and team collaboration skills, with a passion for supporting and developing veterinary professionals.\n\nExcellent practice judgment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster a positive, transparent, and inclusive team culture.\n\nAbility to analyze practice-level performance metrics and collaborate with practice leadership to drive improvements.\n\nSkilled in time management, delegation, and maintaining a healthy team workflow.\n\nBusiness curiosity or financial acumen with a willingness to learn operational metrics and contribute to practice success.\n\nPassion for continuous learning, innovation, and elevating the standards of veterinary care.\n\nDemonstrated professionalism and ability to represent the practice and Chewy Vet Care positively within the local community.\n\nPosition may require some travel.\n\nPhysical job requirements:\nStanding or walking up to 80% per shift.\n\nFrequently lift up to 50 pounds.\n\nFrequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.\n\nRarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.\n\nStand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.\n\nChewy Vet Care is an equal opportunity employer.
