Read more about working at Chief: https://chief.com/careers.\nAbout the Role:\nThe Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end AP operations - ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time, internal controls are maintained, and our payables function scales effectively alongside the business. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, providing accurate, timely, and compliant accounts payable operations. Serving as a subject matter expert and escalation point, this role resolves complex issues, maintains internal controls, supports month-end and year-end close activities, and helps strengthen Purchase-to-Pay processes through reporting, automation, and system improvements.\nThe ideal candidate will have a mixture of public accounting and industry experience, specifically in the technology industry, and be able to operate in a fast growth environment. If you are interested in continuing your career in an impactful and high growth company, this is the role for you!\nWhat You’ll Do:\nPerform the day-to-day accounts payable function including processing of complex accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate coding, supporting documentation, approvals, and compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.\nPerform vendor setup, maintenance, and account reconciliation.\nReconcile vendor accounts and the accounts payable subledger, researching and resolving discrepancies, blocked invoices, payment variances, billing disputes, and other exceptions.\nPerform and oversee monthly AP reconciliations and ensure accurate period-end close.\nPartner with Accounting and Finance teams to support accruals, expense reporting, and month-end close activities.\nMaintain strong internal controls around vendor management, invoice approvals, and payments.\nIdentify opportunities to streamline AP processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen controls.\nSupport cash management and payment scheduling by providing accurate AP information.\nUtilize Tipalti and NetSuite to manage AP transactions, reporting, reconciliations, and related accounting activities.\nPrepare, review, and process Automated Clearing House (ACH), wire, and check payments in accordance with authorization, documentation, and control requirements.\nSupport the year-end financial statement audit, working directly with auditors to ensure a smooth and timely process.\nUtilize Expensify to process employee expense reports and reimbursements.\nAnnual tax filing for 1099 vendors\nAssist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.\nWhat You’ve Done and Enjoy Doing:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.\n7+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable, preferably in a high-volume environment.\nDemonstrated knowledge of end-to-end accounts payable processes, including three-way match, vendor reconciliations, payment controls, accruals, month-end close, and internal controls.\nExperience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, preferably Netsuite, and accounts payable workflow or automation tools such as Tipalti and Expensify.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel experience, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and analysis of large data sets.\nExperience analyzing complex accounts payable issues, identifying root causes, and implementing practical resolutions.\nDemonstrated experience improving Purchase-to-Pay processes through automation, workflow optimization, or system enhancements.\nExperience with vendor onboarding and vendor master data administration.\nExperience supporting high-volume accounts payable operations.\nExperience with e-commerce accounting and marketplace reconciliations.\nExperience supporting audit requests and compliance reporting.\nExperience developing accounts payable metrics, aging analyses, and data-driven recommendations for leadership.\nExperience serving as an escalation resource and providing process guidance or training to accounts payable team members.\nStrong interpersonal skills, an ability to work cross-functionally, with a capability to explain financial concepts in an accessible way for other teams to understand.\nProven organizational and critical thinking skills, with a high attention to detail and a strong personal commitment to meeting deadlines.\nPassion for the Company’s mission, positioning and brand -- to empower women in business and spark change from the top.\nBA/BS, in Accounting or related field required.
