Global TechOp&S oversees the entire lifecycle of the drug: from process optimization and industrialization, to manufacturing, engineering, quality oversight, and supply chain management. This is what you will do\nThe Environmental specialist is responsible for leading the site's environmental compliance strategy throughout the project and operational lifecycle, ensuring full compliance with applicable environmental legislation, corporate standards and permit requirements.\nThe role is accountable for developing and maintaining the site's Environmental Management System, managing environmental permitting activities, supporting sustainable site development and ensuring environmental risks are effectively identified and managed.\nWorking in close collaboration with the Process Safety & Seveso Specialsit, the position contributes to the implementation of the site's Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) and Safety Management System (SMS) by ensuring that environmental aspects related to Seveso legislation are effectively addressed and integrated into site operations.\nThe position reports to the Head of HSE.\nYou will be responsible for\nEnvironmental Compliance\nEnsure compliance with applicable environmental legislation, corporate standards and permit requirements.\nManage environmental permits, authorizations and regulatory obligations (AUA/ AIA)\nAct as the primary interface with environmental authorities and regulatory agencies.\nCoordinate environmental inspections and support regulatory audits.\nEnvironmental Management\nDevelop and maintain the Site Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001 principles.\nCoordinate environmental aspects and impacts assessments.\nManage waste management programs, air emissions, wastewater, hazardous substances and environmental monitoring activities.\nMonitor environmental performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nDevelop and implement environmental procedures, standards and operational controls.\nSeveso & Environmental Risk Management\nSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of the environmental elements of the site's Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) and Safety Management System (SMS).\nCollaborate with the Process Safety & Seveso Specialist in environmental risk assessments associated with Major Accident Hazards.\nSupport environmental evaluations within the Management of Change (MOC) process.\nContribute to emergency preparedness and emergency response planning from an environmental perspective.\nEnsure environmental permits and compliance obligations remain aligned with site operational changes and Seveso requirements.\nProjects & Operational Readiness\nProvide environmental support to engineering projects from design through commissioning and start-up.\nReview environmental requirements for new facilities, equipment and process modifications.\nSupport environmental due diligence for new installations and process changes.\nPromote Best Available Techniques (BAT) and environmental risk reduction measures during project execution.\nSustainability & Continuous Improvement\nSupport Corporate Sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting.\nContribute to biodiversity, energy efficiency, water stewardship and waste minimization programs.\nIdentify opportunities to improve environmental performance and resource efficiency.\nSupport ESG-related environmental initiatives.\nGovernance & Assurance\nParticipate in internal, corporate and external audits.\nManage corrective and preventive actions related to environmental findings.\nPrepare environmental reports, KPIs and regulatory submissions.\nSupport Management Reviews and Corporate reporting activities.\nCross-functional Collaboration\nCollaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Facilities, Corporate HSE and the Process Safety & Seveso specialist.\nSupport cross-functional project teams during site commissioning and operational readiness.\nPromote environmental awareness and foster a proactive environmental culture across the organization. \n You will need to have\nDegree in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or other relevant scientific disciplines.\nProven experience in environmental management within pharmaceutical, chemical or highly regulated manufacturing environments.\nGood knowledge of Italian environmental legislation and permitting processes (D.Lgs.152/2006).\nExperience with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).\nKnowledge of Seveso legislation and environmental aspects associated with Major Accident Prevention is considered a strong advantage.\nFluent Italian and English.\nWe would prefer for you to have\nStrong knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.\nExperience supporting Seveso or other major hazard industrial sites.\nProject management and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a complex project environment.\nExcellent communication and influencing
