ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.\nJob Summary: The Nurse Coordinator coordinates the needs of children with chronic/complex medical issues in ChildNet’s care in cooperation with the medical coordination unit, case managers, foster parents, and congregate care providers.\nEssential Functions:\nThe items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.\nGuide intake and placement decisions by screening medically complex children upon entrance into ChildNet’s care. Provide guidance to Intake staff in obtaining medical history from parents and medical providers.\nAssist caregivers in identifying medical specialists, scheduling appointments, and following physician’s recommendations for care. Provide medical care training and support to foster parents, including obtaining medical equipment and supplies.\nAct as a liaison between medical professionals and caregivers.\nAudit case files quarterly to ensure children receive necessary medical care and documentation is completed.
